The Sub-Directorate for Combating Human Trafficking and Smuggling of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime carried out inspections at brothels in areas of Attica at noon yesterday, Thursday, March 26, 2026, to identify victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
In particular, police officers from the Department for Combating Human Trafficking and Smuggling conducted inspections at -6- brothels in the Athens area, during which a total of -12- people (-11- women and one man) were arrested, accused of violating seals set by the Authority, while -4- of those arrested were also found to lack documents for their legal stay in the country.
As it was found, the above brothels had been sealed repeatedly, following relevant decisions by the competent municipal authority, while, during the investigations, the sum of -760- euros was found and seized.
The arrested persons are being taken to the competent prosecution authority, while the process for re-sealing the brothels is underway.
