To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

My love, forgive me, did I forget you?

I forgot you

I forgot you

I forgot you

There are not a few accidents - accidents - crimes - or I don't know what to call them, which end in "I'm sorry, I forgot you"...

Whenever the news reminds us of such an incident, we feel anger at the heartless father or careless mother – who is so self-centered that she ignored the experts' warnings about the degrees of temperature a car's interior can reach, abandoned for a while in a parking lot. And she forgot her child there. Or her little dog. I put both together, because it happens, (surprisingly enough in the year 2022 not to take it for granted), that both have life and soul.

In cases where they do not reach our ears, the child or the animal may live. And who deals with the psychological trauma of "I'm here, I'm struggling, I have no help, mom cares more about shopping than caring about me"? Since he lived and we won't be in the news, all is well.

But there are also news, such as the one that reached us from France, where a baby was "forgotten" by its father, inside a parked car, in the middle of extreme heat (even if you didn't feel it, father, at least you would have heard it on the news), and of course, he died. 14 months of life. How much does 14 months of life cost? Supermarket shopping? Meeting with company executives? Discounts at a department store?

In the end, how much is a life worth that you leave it recklessly, in order to catch up with your so binding everyday life, calculating that "he will make it", or that "bad will not happen to me", or that "in any case, we have jobs too ”?

And finally, why don't we listen to the experts? Mainly, when they say self-evident things, things that we can easily find out for ourselves to be true?

I think that the key to all that sounds extreme, only when it becomes news on the channels, is precisely the "binding everyday". It makes us not focus on what really matters.

It is really important - for example - to protect your head when riding a motorcycle, so you should wear a helmet. You wear;

It really matters that you wear your seat belt when you are a driver or a passenger, because your life should be your priority. You wear;

It really matters that you keep your child in mind, because they should (supposedly) be your priority, no matter what's going on around you. Do you have that in mind?

And in any case, it really matters to find out what our priorities are.

We should, as evolved humans, have our priorities straight, and this is as ironic a comment as it is true. Since our brains have evolved relative to Neuterdal's, it should be self-evident that we have solved Neuterdal's issues: instincts, impulses, etc. From the looks of it though, we're probably still struggling with the balance between emotion and reason. Thinking that reason is enough for us, we allow ourselves to be carried away by an emotion like a raft in the ocean. And so "what happens around us" becomes more important and preoccupies us completely, leaving no room for the really important things.

And so the situation "the meeting starts in 10 minutes" becomes more important than the well being of the child. The child that should be the fruit of love, of love. To be the central axis of your life. Something alive, something that has a soul, lives, is here to have a course, man. And 15 minutes is enough to put an end to this story.

The situation "I will do a little shopping, to be able to return early, so as not to leave the program", becomes more important than the survival of a creature that has given you its love, your animal. A creature you didn't make, because you can't make a dog. But with the importance you give to "your program" you can easily kill it. 15 minutes is enough.

After all, what are our priorities today? Are you getting married because you fell in love? Because you want to live a life with a person you love? Does family come about because you want it, love it, ask for it? Or is it social conditioning that dictates you do this or that? Of course, the state also does everything it can to distort our priorities. If one takes into account - for example - the way the police react to women protesting about attempted rape, one realizes that the "general line" is "shut up and swim". But do we, each one of us individually, move along a line defined by our basic and radical priorities, or do we cut ourselves off completely from what we considered "traditional" until now, but which fed our needs?

Ultimately, because a man is judged by his actions, and not by his thoughts or feelings, if we look at the big picture, we have to admit that we have lost control. There is no balance. Or, quite simply, let's admit that our priority is to work and be socially acceptable. The little emotion left at the bottom of the bottle is given for this purpose: for social acceptance. Otherwise attention would be given to those that really need our care.

But since what you take care of is also what grows, let's observe what we really take care of, maybe we can finally change the center of our attention and put the weight where it should be.

Except, if the facts of our lives have changed and as robotic humans we don't need emotions...
