I lean into the dream's boundless embrace
turning my miserable heart to stone.
Youth has departed, wandering birds
and they left my apron empty of hope.
Life was a bittersweet journey.
in forests and green meadows,
within the city the terrible commotion,
in a sea of calm evenings.
I saw in the forests some beloved trees
to be cut by fate's saw,
I said goodbye with a final kiss.
and I felt a mountain crushing me.
I saw them blooming in the cool meadows
Spring youth, roses, tulips,
I put new wings on my shoulders,
a panacea that sweetened my sorrows.
I gave love everywhere with generosity,
affection, smile, help and gifts.
I fought with dragons and wild beasts,
The uphill climb of life was difficult.
Now I wait like a ship without a way,
in the inhospitable harbor a caress,
a smile and a little warmth,
a little light in the winter darkness.
I don't expect to hear "thank you."
I don't live, ali, in the delusion of such a dream.
I simply ask for a warm smile.
That's enough for me now. That's enough for me...
