The KONSFARM ART ATELIER NÖ presents in Vienna the international group exhibition of contemporary art entitled "Between Light and Shadow", which will be hosted in Gallery am Park by August 9 to 15, 2026, under the editorship of the Art Historian and Critic Konstantina Farmaki.
The exhibition brings together artists from different countries and cultural backgrounds, creating a polyphonic visual dialogue around one of the most fundamental concepts of art and human experience: the relationship between light and shadow.
From the first artistic representations to modern visual creation, light and shadow are not only basic morphological elements, but also powerful symbols of human existence. Light reveals, shadow submits. Light illuminates reality, while shadow leaves room for mystery, memory, imagination and inner search.
The exhibition attempts to explore this creative border. Where the visible meets the invisible, presence meets absence, certainty meets doubt, memory meets oblivion and hope meets anguish. Through paintings, sculptural compositions, engravings, photography and contemporary visual approaches, the participating artists are invited to capture personal, social and existential dimensions of contemporary reality.
The choice of the subject is not accidental. The relationship between light and shadow is one of the fundamental principles of visual language. Every work of art is born through this dialectical relationship. Light defines form, volume and space, while shadow adds depth, emotion and interpretative polysemy. From the chiaroscuro of the great masters of the Renaissance to the most modern visual pursuits, art continues to move between these two forces that co-shape the image and its meaning.
The exhibition "Between Light and Shadow" is not limited to an aesthetic approach. It is an invitation to the audience to reflect on the contrasts that make up the human experience and to discover the countless nuances that develop between the two extremes.
In an era of intense social, cultural and environmental transformations, artists are called upon to function as observers, interpreters and creators of new narratives. The exhibition seeks to highlight precisely this power of art: to illuminate, to question, to move and to create bridges of communication between people.
The event is part of the international cultural activities of the KONSFARM ART ATELIER NÖ, which promotes intercultural dialogue and collaboration between artists from different countries, actively contributing to the promotion of contemporary art at an international level.
