Heavenly bodies with tears sprinkle
the pain of my native land.
The pain explodes inside me,
boiling volcano
of the absurd I see logic catching me.
Parthenon, Acropolis, Olympian Gods,
statuesque bodies in marble painted,
crystal faces like gems,
Athena's well-formed breasts.
Iktinos, Phidias, Kallikratis,
at the height of Pentelikos broken hearts,
eyes that cry for the rock of love
in the Attic tunic, blood-stained souls.
On chariots I dream of them arriving
of history the stolen treasures,
in the shape of a meander I will join the laurels
with Melina's unforgettable voice.
