Our country is ranked second WORLDWIDE with the highest rates of depression, second in car thefts across Europe, second worst in youth unemployment in Europe, second poorest country after Bulgaria in Europe, we have the second worst railway company in Europe, second with the largest population decline in the EU, second highest in electricity tariff increases in the EU, we have the second highest debt in the world (55% increase since 2000), second in the EU in the accuracy of basic goods and, if I look further, we are second in corruption and are on a par with Namibia.
We also rank last in the EU in the global Press Freedom Index!
A country so small, anchored in the blue sky and the bright sun, a country rich in minerals, rich in natural beauty, rich in productive land, rich in natural gas, rich in culture and history.
Brilliant Greek minds who felt nihilism and left for other countries, since in their homeland the concept of meritocracy has been reduced to an unknown concept and the salaries are disheartening.
Another Greece with over 6.500.000 million Greeks living scattered across America, Australia, Europe, Russia, Canada, South America....
They hold within them a living Greece, an emotional homeland that they have no right to enjoy, no right to have active participation, no right to vote...
We have the unfortunate fate of African states whose enslaved residents work for a pittance to extract diamonds and minerals.
They work hard and inhumanely, with no regard for the future, except to be able to satisfy their daily hunger.

Why, when I read that America is coming to extract hydrocarbons from inexhaustible deposits, do I imagine a prosperous Greece?!
And when I read about antimony mining in North Chios in areas that have been designated nature and there are thermal waters, I feel that thematic tourism is booming, as is the health of the residents.
In my country, I feel like an abandoned slave, despite all the great investments in resource exploitation, that I have to suffer to buy basic necessities, that my abilities and skills must be exploited to provide me with shelter and social goods, that I have to work day and night to pay unbearable taxes, and when I reach an age when I will be unable to work, that I will be content with a piece of bread, even if I pay my contributions for a lifetime.
Am I a slave in my wealthy country? Has being a slave become my culture?
