A poetic musical theater performance, a hymn to WOMEN
After the huge success of the performance that premiered at the Athens Concert Hall and the excellent reviews, the musical theater performance "THE BEAUTIFUL HELEN IN THE VALLEY OF DEAD LOVERS» continues her theatrical career at the Theater RADAR
from Monday 16 February and every Monday and Tuesday.
The text and dramaturgy are by Dr. Konstantinou Boura and Georgia Zoi interprets the role of Eleni, under the direction of Kostis Kapeloni.
A special and happy coincidence is the fact that Georgia Zoi appears for the first time as an actress in one of the theatrical spaces that she has designed, in her capacity as an Architect.

The role of Eleni is played by Georgia Zoi, recently awarded with another award, that of Best Actress for her performance in the play Amber Alert (17th International Monodrama Festival "MONOAKT", Pristina, 13/06/2025). Through a deeply human and political approach, her performance touches the core of the female experience from antiquity to the present day.
Composer Zoe Tiganouria signs the original music of the performance and, flanked on stage by Stelios Generalis on percussion, captivates us with her well-known performing skills as an accordion virtuoso but also with her compositions that have a narrative role alongside the words. Together, they musically bring to life the intense and contradictory emotions of the complex female nature.
Η Beautiful Helen, the eternal symbol of beauty and curse, now at an advanced age, takes the floor for the first time. It is not the poets, the men, the generals who speak; it is she who speaks.
From the walls of Troy to today's wars, her voice becomes a cry against violence, war, and the abuse of women. She mourns for the children who were lost, denounces the rulers who enrich themselves with blood, and claims the right of women to speak, to resist, to live.
The performance alternates between emotion, anger, humor, tenderness and passion, keeping the viewer in constant emotional alertness.
The monologue combines speech, music and songs that performed by Georgia Zoi.
The "Beautiful Helen in the valley of dead loves", in the valley of Evrotas where oranges smell sweet, sings of pain, loss, love, beauty, Peace..
Through 4 new songs by Zoe Tiganouria that she composed especially for the show "Eros" by Sappho, translated by Konstantinos Bouras, «The beautiful Helen» in lyrics by Loula Papagiannopoulou, «Woman Peace» to lyrics by Sofia Lignou and «Dark longing» in lyrics by Zoe Tiganouria,
as well as 4 traditional elegies, songs of exile and love ("Stranger here, stranger there", "I lost my homeland", "Sadness does not leave joy", "Nerantzoula"),
and finally the obituary "Get up, mother" to poetry by Yannis Falconis, the last song set to music by the recently deceased Petroloukas Chalkias with the voice of Georgia Zoi.

In the end, Helen is no longer the scapegoat of a tragedy... she becomes a symbol of Peace, Love and Freedom.

"The Beautiful Helen" She is abused, like every defenseless being who is led and brought to the millstones of History, while the long-suffering Nemesis reserves the right to restore the moral, universal, cosmic order.
She was wronged from a young age.
A symbol of unjust beauty, a symbol of lost heavenly harmony.
The Chaos that entwines between our reflections is bridged by this symbolic form that continues to exist, to evolve despite everything, to experience daily joy and sorrow, to come to terms with Time, to accept itself, to welcome old age as a blessing that frees it from the torment of Love. Beauty is a curse when it is not accompanied by free will, the ability to choose, peace...
Helen: I failed to be a good mother and wife. And my great love was a disaster. Dead bodies were piled up on the walls of Troy. They were moldering. Cholera and plague. Pestilence, famine, drowning. The sea was swelling. It threatened to swallow us. Suppressed rage simmers in my guts.
Yes, I went many times to escape. The walls of Troy terrified me.
No one jumps into the void easily. Love is a prison.
But not the worst of them all.
…I experienced Death
In the sad gaze of an abused being.
I tore my flesh, I distributed even the last garments
To clothe the wronged...
A terrible sacrifice.
The Word is always on the side of the weak.
For every creature that is wronged
Themis is long-suffering, though
But Nemesis rebels.
Trial and Justice are not always synonymous.
I can't stand injustice.
I can't stand her...

This is Eleni by Dr. Konstantinos Bouras. Helen, who has come to terms with herself, sleeps peacefully at night, has forgiven her persecutors, and sympathizes with all living beings. She is Helen of Peace.
This will be followed by an interactive discussion between the author of the play, Dr. Konstantinos Bouras, and the audience, lasting 10 to 15 minutes, and the performance will close with music and singing by the artists on stage and with audience participation.
The performances will continue on tour abroad, such as: Milan, Bucharest, Kosovo, Tirana, as well as other cities in Greece and abroad.
...and if I am reborn, let them not call me beautiful Helen, the cause of war,
May they never call me Helen of Troy again,
to call me Helen of Peace.

“The Beautiful Helen is a myth for me from my childhood. Helen I fell in love, Helen I married… She is the feminine Beauty. Manna Gaia, Ourania Aphrodite… If there were no women, there would be no Civilization. If there were no feminine energies, there would be no Peace. The warlike males attribute to women their greed, their inadequacy. All Good and Beneficial are of the feminine gender: harmony, goodwill, diplomacy, equality, egalitarianism, justice, freedom, life, gratitude… Long live femininity!!!”

«The new version of the modern body of a mythical ghost, which Konstantinos Bouras delivers to us for work and dream, gives us rich material for thought, theatrical and musical research and creative confrontation with a creature that had three goddesses declare her a trophy, they blamed her for a ten-year bloody war, only for the Poet to conclude in the end that all this devastation happened “for an empty shirt, for a Helen”.
We see the ghost wandering through the centuries, through landscapes of destruction and wars without victors, searching for Peace, which we once loved and which gave us the open horizon, which promises us journeys to a future that will be built by seafarers yet unborn.
And our Beautiful Helen wanders, on the same paths, saying and repeating the same words, to the young living, until they understand that Beauty and Love can be the only true winners, in a Happiness that will last for a lifetime and not like a flash in the dark."

As an actress, in her forty-five-year artistic career, Georgia Zoi has performed leading roles (including emblematic roles in Ancient Tragedy) in 61 theatrical productions, in 24 films, in 18 television series and in concerts and recordings in Greece and abroad.
- She was awarded at the ALEXANDRIA FESTIVAL in 1980 with the award for Best Actress (in a row with Chryssa Spiliotis) for her first film THE SUN OF DEATH by Dinos Dimopoulos.
- She was awarded the ACTOR MEANS LIGHT Award for her overall contribution to the Theater in 2018.
- She was awarded twice by UNESCO in 2018 for her performance in the play "SOFIA I REMEMBER YOU" by Tania Harokopou and in 2019 for her performance in the play "GAIA" by Yannis Falconis.

The hall was filled with people who love theater, music and speech. Among them were actors, people of culture and official guests, who were present to honor a special performance. Everyone watched with bated breath the actress Georgia Zoe, to give a speech to Beautiful Helen, to give her voice, body and soul. Her interpretation was unique, deep, full of emotion, as a result of which it moved and carried the audience into her narrative…
An evening that was not just a spectacle, but an experience.

…Dr. Konstantinos Bouras’ text is more than a simple retrospective, an account of a life bound to a cursed beauty: It is the redemption from it… Sofia Pagoni’s magnificent setting resembles a garden in the sea. Flowers that adorned it and waves that traveled it, no longer stormy, but tame.
And Georgia Zoe walks around them again, walking on a path already carved into the soil by Fate and people.

The beautiful Eleni took on flesh and blood through the beloved actress, Georgia Zoi, under the directorial eye of Kostis Kapelonis, and came to the surface to bring order to the anarchy of History. On stage, together with the beloved performer, was the remarkable musician, Zoe Tiganouria, who gave pulse and lyricism with original and her own music with her accordion and together with Stelios Generalis on percussion, who provided the required intensity.
In conclusion, the performance was a musical theatrical adaptation of a monologue that aimed to convey another truth, a truth beyond goals and glamour, beyond utilitarian tactics. This truth was intended to become the truth of all women but also of the weak in general, those who cannot defend themselves. A text that is a hymn to feminine nature from a male perspective.
