The Greek Community of Melbourne announces the start of the football season Greek Community Cup for 2026, with the addition of Juniors, Youth and Masters competitions, transforming the event into a full month of football spectacle with the participation of Greek clubs.
The new expanded program aspires to bring together our teams and football players of Greek origin of all ages, offering a unique experience of sports, participation and proverbial participation.
For the first time, the Greek Football Cup will include separate events for Junior and teenagers, giving young football players the opportunity to live the experience of a football tournament, to represent their teams, becoming part of an institution that is constantly developing.
At the same time, the new organization is being introduced in 2026 masters, which will take place on the day of the Grand Final. Through it, the Community will honor veteran football players and their timeless contribution to the sport, recognizing the important role that football has played in the lives of many members of our community.
Of course the events Men and Women's are returning dynamically, continuously offering a unique competitive environment for our Greek teams that wish to participate in the unique colonial sporting event.

The Head of the Sports Committee of the Greek Community of Melbourne, Michalis Karamitos, expressed his enthusiasm for the new expanded format of the event. “This tournament is growing steadily and its expansion will create opportunities for more clubs and footballers to participate. For many people of Greek origin, football is not just a sport. It is a way of maintaining ties with the community, an opportunity to meet and collaborate.
This expanded event further strengthens this element and we hope that its new, more comprehensive format will reach greater interest and have an even greater impact for everyone.”
The 2026 event will be held with the support of Bentleigh FC, Keon Park FC and Northcote City FC.
The Greek Community Cup is organized by the Greek Community of Melbourne, with the professional support of the Australian Football Skool and the support of Kyritsis Services Pty Ltd and Darebin City Council.
