People do not all live at the same rate of progress.
Some fast, some screeching.
Everyone, along the way, tries to interpret the world and man himself, i.e. life, historical events, philosophical, moral, religious, social and political concepts and everything that falls under his perception, what causes the his attention and interest. That is, what falls within its generally conceivable field.
In his course of research and interpretation, he travels through a multifaceted search.
He is overwhelmed by a multitude of questions:
Questions referring to sense space, e.g. "if the Universe is stable or evolving". "What laws govern it," &c.
But also questions referring to the area of metaphysics; beyond the conscious; on the border of the supernatural with the transcendent, that is, with that which exceeds our knowledge; e.g. the about "Of the Existence of God, the Trinity and the Incarnation"; "How I came to be on earth; how the world was made· where is it going and what is all of this going towards".
That is, questions where the heart overcomes the penetration of the mind and enters the view of the unsettled. There where "...the mind quiets down and the soul unites with God."
All this, he tries, in practical life, with his available knowledge, to decipher them, to give them substance, to appreciate them and to make use of them.
But these questions are delimited, defined in a space, a spiritual space, charged with its mental powers and knowledge, with its corresponding spiritual load.
This charged spiritual space is his Spiritual Horizon.
This spiritual limit is not only not the same for all people, but even for the same person during his life. Because there is the possibility of expanding and transcending one's spiritual horizon. His ascent to new horizons.
Here, we distinguish the spiritual horizon of the child, from the horizon of the mature person, the scientist, the philosopher. In other words, we have spiritual horizons of various sizes and qualities.
In this case, we focus on narrow intellectual horizons and broad horizons.
The man who perceives and understands only what falls within his intuitive perception has a narrow spiritual horizon.
This man overestimates what is near him. He accepts what fits in his mind.
This man has a limited intellectual horizon.
The man who does not limit himself to what is very close to him has a wide spiritual horizon,
but he can see further, see the unseen
behind the distant, behind the great and the small things.
However, in the area of the spiritual horizon, some other situations are often distinguished, the so-called preconceptions.
The meaning of the word Prevention is not to be confused with the meaning of prejudice.
By prevention or foreshadowing, we mean the idea that exists in the archetype, which in advance, this idea, has formed in me a situation (mould, form), a machine for processing and perceiving things.
Furthermore, in addition to the spiritual horizon mentioned above, the horizon of the enthades, we also distinguish another horizon, beyond the anthropic horizon.
The horizon beyond the sensible, beyond the conceivable, the horizon of the beyond, the Christian Horizon, the Horizon of Divine Revelation.
From the meeting and comparison of these two horizons, the Human and the Christian-Revelation, a spiritual rebirth* occurs, a spiritual upgrade. And, from this, it projects something new, another horizon, whose meaning exceeds the meaning of each of the encountered horizons. Horizon with heightened spiritual meaning. One New Spiritual Horizon with spiritual Surplus. A horizon of increased splendor, which, “Divine grace and Apocalyptic power", clarifies the indents, "Seeing the Unseen".
This spiritual charge pushes to leave the "shelter", towards the service of the neighbor and the person feels a divine impulse of externalization and confession to spread the Truth. Of the Truth, who does not keep it to himself, ¨ non-membrane fiber", but it separates her from her "garment" and the Divine is projected from the Human.
* Regarding these, the mental regeneration, upgrading and widening of the spiritual horizon, that is, with the near and far, the big and small and the perception of these, we refer below:
– During our church attendance, for example, if we simply attend the Divine Liturgy: we just see and hear.
That is, we recognize the visible and nothing further.
We do not perceive the reverse, beyond the visible, that which cannot be seen, the invisible, that is, the meaning of the Divine Liturgy.
We belong to the watchers"this holy and bloodless mysticism¨. That is, just as we would watch a theater performance, or a movie, and in fact, perhaps with greater participation and emotion than in the Divine Liturgy
But if we avoid the level of¨watchers¨ and, as a thanksgiving gathering, we rise to the level of ¨accomplices¨, after the priest, “this mystery", then we see the Unseen. The invisible, through the opening, divine grace, of our spiritual horizon.
Then,¨ travelers with a burning heart we will reach Emmaus**, for the eyes of our soul to be opened and feel the Divine Glory.
** This is about two of the Disciples of Christ (Cleopa and Luke), who, traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus, discussed the events in Jerusalem, that is, Jesus' journey to the Cross, and they traveled that, while it was the third day from of the Crucifixion of their Teacher, He did not appear as He had foretold.
However, on the way, a third fellow traveler was added, Anastas Jesus, whom they did not recognize, as their spiritual eyes had not yet been opened, even though Jesus was explaining to them in detail the events in Jerusalem. But, they ¨their hearts themselves were burning and aflame under the pull and love of the Lord.
During the dinner, which his two companions brought to Him in Emmaus, "Jesus blessed the bread (as we always did), cut this one off and gave it to them."
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized the Risen Master, who immediately became invisible.
