An important event, in the aftermath of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821, is organized these days, with a very rich and interesting program, by the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, the Cultural Tribute to Freedom.
The source of inspiration was the Greek Revolution, an event that profoundly affected not only Greece but the entire West.
In the presentation of the program we read: "The 200 years of the Greek Revolution of 1821 and the War of Independence were a historic event that was studied and celebrated around the world by people who share the deep values of freedom, justice and the commitment to building a better life."
This event detects the messages that emerge from the Greek Revolution, and the ways in which they can be beneficial to our lives today. We read in the program:
"In a world of enormous and ever-evolving new challenges, the message of unity in pursuit of a better, more common tomorrow is more relevant than ever. What started as a celebration of 200 years, we at the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce believe that it must remain a beacon, reminding us all of the values and principles that are a cornerstone to move forward.
(…) Through a rare mix of lectures, theater, cartoons, opera, debates, documentaries and virtual exhibitions, the Cultural Tribute to Freedom highlights the relevance and dynamism of the messages that shaped our nation's struggle for independence and freedom. "Using the best of all available technologies, our virtual festival will travel across the United States and beyond, carrying the spirit we need today to move forward and thrive in our personal and professional endeavors."

This year, the Hellenic-American Chamber celebrates its 90th anniversary, and this was an event prepared to honor this. Birthday in the best possible way.
