Prodromos Giannas is Professor of International Relations and Communication-Publicity in the Department of Business Administration of the University of West Attica. He received his BA in Economics from the College of Wooster (Ohio) in 1981, his MA in Political Science from Miami University (Ohio) in 1982, and his Ph.D in International Relations from American University (Washington DC) in 1989. He has taught at American University, Mount Vernon College, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Naval War College, the Technical Institute of Western Macedonia, and the Technical Institute of Piraeus. Mr. Giannas' research interests extend to three scientific fields: International Relations, Public Relations, and Political Communication. His research work includes publications in scientific journals such as Public Relations Review, Public Relations Inquiry, Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management, International Journal of Strategic Communication, CEU Political Science Journal, Journal of Political Marketing, Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of E-Government, Journal of Modern Greek Studies, Mediterranean Quarterly, Communication Issues, International Law and International Politics, Market Without Borders as well as contributions to collective volumes and books in Greek and English. Mr. Giannas is a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journals Journal of Contingencies and Crisis Management and International Journal of E-Government Research. In 2007, the European Society of Communication Directors recognized him as one of the leading European scientists in the field of communication.
