His new tour US President Donald Trump in the Middle East brings to the fore a series of critical statements and developments concerning Gaza, Iran, as well as US strategic armament plans. Turkish media, including the Turkey, refer to Trump's peace plan for the Gaza Strip, which seems to be moving in a completely different direction from the UN and EU proposals.
A peace plan for Gaza?
According to leaks from Turkish diplomatic sources, Donald Trump is reportedly promoting a alternative stabilization plan in Gaza, with emphasis on economic recovery of the area, complete disarmament of Hamas and the creation of a international security observatory, possibly under American or mixed leadership.
The plan has already caused reactions, as bypasses Fatah and suggests management of the area by “new local authorities with international support”, which is interpreted as political isolation of the existing Palestinian political structure.
Harsh rhetoric towards Iran
At the same time, the American President brought back to the fore the harsh rhetoric towards Iran, declaring that “tolerance towards Tehran’s nuclear ambitions has ended.”
State Department sources report that US considering new sanctions and reinforced military presence in the Persian Gulf, in collaboration with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The new F-55 fighter: a demonstration of power and technology
During his visit to the base Al Udeid in Qatar, Trump symbolically presented the new F-55 fighter, which was characterized by the Pentagon as ""next generation strategic superweapon"The aircraft combines stealth technology with the ability to fly semi-autonomously and identify targets through artificial intelligence.
The presentation of the F-55 is linked to the new US military power policy in the Middle East, against the backdrop of tension with Iran, Syria and the hotbeds of destabilization in Gaza and Lebanon.
Turkey, Syria and Kurds: Parallel developments
At the same time, the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Ankara expects from the Kurdish militia YPG to abide by its accession agreement to the Syrian armed forces, in collaboration with Damascus.
This statement, if confirmed in practice, could be a historic turning point in Syria's internal balance, also affecting broader US-Turkish relations.
