Strange title, but true and essential. Terrorism in Greece is a product of the post-coup period. They had to make the change here too. That is, to transform the security and order of the junta into violence, terror, murder and provocations, so that the children of the Left could gain "freedom" of action.
Now, if the individual rights of citizens are being harmed, this does not yet affect the parties of the Post-Revolutionary Government.
And while the door was open, they had to break it every time, so that the change would be visible. And, of course, the usual burden, the people, paid for the broken items.
The angry children of the Left, who initially started strikes and occupations in universities and even transferred them to elementary schools, cultivated the soil for the growth of savage terrorism, which respects neither rules, nor institutions, nor laws, nor individual rights and mocks democracy. The peak of all this was the infamous 17N, which plagued the country for decades.
It simply wants to become the anti-state and uses all means to do so.
Terrorism in Greece, despite being the flesh of the Left, is the favorite child of all parties, regardless of ideology. And, above all, it is the favorite child of each state. It does all the dirty work. All governments, without exception, use it to silence the popular movement when it swells. When the pressure increases too much, then they throw terrorism into the battle against the people, with orders to throw the first Molotov cocktails, so that the state can release the chemicals and disperse the popular movement. Thus, the state, with a left-wing weapon, strikes the people and imposes order.
I am not writing this because I heard it, but because I experienced it, when I participated in the rallies against the Memoranda and in the others against the Prespa Agreement. I will use the phrase of a senior officer of the Hellenic Police and later a member of parliament, who confided in me:
"If they had let me go, I would have dismantled terrorism within 24 hours."
There is simply no political will, for some reason. If the state wanted to, it would have dismantled it, just as it dismantled the "Golden Dawn».
With the recent murder of the late Vagia Nestoras by terrorists with tear gas, a new cycle of sterile confrontation began again on an issue that has been playing out for almost half a century, with a double benefit for the government:
a) to corner the Left parties ahead of elections
b) to hide the main issues that concern the people (price increases, housing, traffic, environment, and so on.).
It is certain that once again not a single hair on the head of terrorism will be touched.
