Today 's session closed at slightly lower levels Athens Stock Exchange, as stock prices failed to maintain their initial gains.
The shares of OPAP, PPC and Ethniki supported the market, while the securities of Viohalco and Mytilineos were pressed. O General Price Index closed at 865,34 points, down 0,12%.
Intra-conference, it recorded a higher price at 873,17 points (+ 0,79%) and a lower price at 861,58 points (-0,55%). The main stock index closed in September with significant losses, at 6,26%, while since the beginning of the year it has recorded gains at 6,97%.
The value of transactions on the Athens Stock Exchange amounted to 72,3 million euros. The index of high capitalization marked a marginal increase of 0,09%, while the index of medium capitalization decreased significantly by 1,64%.
Of the high-capitalization shares on the Athens Stock Exchange, the largest increase was recorded by the shares of OPAP (+ 2,92%), Aegean Airlines (+ 2,77%), PPC (+ 2,50%) and Ethniki ( + 1,60%). On the contrary, the biggest drop was recorded by the shares of Viohalco (-3,71%), Mytilineos (-2,08%), IPTO (-1,67%), Motor Oil (-1,12%) and EYDAP (-1,08%).
Of the sub-indices, the largest increase was recorded by the indices of Travel (+ 2,91%) and Utilities (+ 0,60%), while the largest losses were recorded by the indices of Insurance (-2,34%) and of Raw Materials (-2,17%). Alpha Bank and Eurobank presented the largest volume of transactions, circulating 7.962.320 and 7.091.500 shares, respectively.
The largest value of transactions was recorded by OTE with 10,47 million euros and Alpha Bank with 8,71 million euros. 50 stocks moved higher, 65 declined and 14 remained unchanged. The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Lanakam (k) + 11,40% and Wood Trading (p) + 9,68%. The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Attica Bank -24,38% and Akritas -19,85%.
