The “Home of Love” of K.M.M. has every reason to rejoice even more in the celebration of October 1st, the day dedicated on a global scale to the Third Age.
47 years ago, the Board of Directors of the Greek Elderly Association decided on 12.12.1978 to honor the Elderly every year on October 1. After many years of struggle and securing the support of intellectuals and politicians from all parties, the Greek Elderly Association succeeded in 1991 in bringing the issue to the Greek Parliament, having it voted on and officially establishing October 1 as a day of honor for the Elderly.
Nowadays, October 1st is also honored by the UN as "International Day of Older Persons".
We celebrate
So, celebrating the "Home of Love" on this day again this year, we are organizing a feast for our grandparents, in an atmosphere that their beloved, Akis Deiximos, has known so well for years.
