A "tsunami" of cases in Australia (and around the world) is making the holidays up and down again this year.
New South Wales recorded 6324 new cases of COVID-19 and three deaths.
Of particular concern is the fact that the number of those hospitalized has increased by 20. A total of 521 people suffering from COVID-19 are hospitalized in N.N.O.
Victoria recorded 1999 new cases and three deaths.

About 368 people with COVID-19 are treated in state hospitals.
Warnings that "we will all stick to Omicron"
New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazard has said he expects everyone in the Australian state to be affected by the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
"Everyone in New South Wales will probably stick to Omicron at some point. "Everyone in Australia will be attacked by Omicron," warned the minister, who in a press conference called on residents to make an appointment for the booster dose as a defense against the worrying variant.
"We will all be affected by Omicton and if that happens, the best way to deal with it is to be fully vaccinated, including our booster dose," he said.
"The challenge for us in the state is to ensure that our health system can deal with this impending virus that is so contagious - it is extremely contagious," he continued.
The minister also said that international and domestic data showed that Omicron was not as "serious" as the previous variants, with the majority of people in the ICU being unvaccinated.
