To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Easter in a changing Europe

Easter in a changing Europe

Concerns grow as the world destabilizes. Every year on days like this, Easter brought calm, faith, and a sense of unity. This year, however, the climate is different. It's not just the security measures outside churches. It's something deeper. A concern that exists everywhere. In the world, in societies, in people themselves. Are we ultimately not just afraid of the incidents, but of what they show? In many European countries, authorities are on alert. Churches are protected, services are held with police presence, and the feeling that nothing is as it was before is becoming increasingly intense. It's not just a matter of safety. It's a matter of trust. And here a more difficult question arises. Is the balance being lost? As the war continues on various fronts, as global tension increases, societies become more fragile. The balances that held for years are beginning to shift. And in this instability, some see opportunity. Is it a coincidence that in times of crisis, more intense pressures, demands, and conflicts appear? Or does every major upheaval pave the way for those who have been waiting for the right moment to impose what they have been demanding for years? Ordinary people feel it. He doesn't need analysis to understand that something is changing. Conversations are no longer the same. The fears are more intense. The uncertainty is greater. And the question that is heard more and more often is one. Where are we going? At the same time, even in holy places like Jerusalem, believers are faced with restrictions and strict measures. The Holy Light, one of the most symbolic events of Orthodoxy, is now held under strict control. Is this a security issue or a sign of changing times? No one disputes the need for protection. But when faith is experienced amidst fear and limitations, something deeper has begun to shift. Europe is at a crossroads. On the one hand, the need for coexistence, on the other, the reality of a society that is being tested. Equilibrium is not a given. And when they are lost, they are difficult to get back. Easter is a symbol of hope. But this year, more than ever, it comes with a question that cannot be ignored. Will we manage to maintain who we are or are we entering a new era where everything is redefined? And even if there is even one believer left to celebrate the Birth and Resurrection of the God-Man, this faith will never fade. He will always live in our hearts, in our memories, in our childhood, when we ran to churches during Holy Week, when we reverently awaited the Epitaph every Good Friday and the Holy Light of the Lord's Resurrection every Holy Saturday. We must pass on these values to future generations. Faith, love, compassion, hope, everything that Christ taught us. Not hate. Not wars. But the great message of sacrifice, forgiveness and love. Love one another. Happy Easter, my brothers. Happy Easter with light in our souls and peace in the world. Sincerely, Ioanna Lazarou Publisher – Greek News & Radio FL | Businessrise Publishing
