To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Greekness through engravings & constructions by Alekos Fasianos. As Art Historian, Dr. Marai Georgousi, states: “…In this exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to come into contact with 22 engravings and constructions by Alekos Fasianos from all periods of his creation, thus they will be able to observe the variations and schematic transitions in his characteristic human figures as well as the variety of his themes, drawn from Greek tradition and mythology.” Fasianos himself said characteristically: “Light and shine, these two are born in Greece. Myth is identified with reality. From this shine, poets say, music is born.” Visitors are therefore invited to “touch” this shine with their “gaze.”

Continuing, the Art Historian states: "This important artist dives into his soul, into the Greek traditions he has been receiving since his childhood, and transforms his experiential searches into art that concerns and interests the public. It is no coincidence that he is universally accepted by both the common people who love his work, and his recognition by the Academic community.

Line and color are at the service of a capable artist, constantly fueled by the emotion of various stimuli, who is called in turn to converse with the receiver and touch sensitive chords. His brushstrokes are mature and confident, while the artist experiments beyond the established, color is what shapes the forms and human figures. He creates a personal universe on the canvas, a legacy of knowledge and memory of the refracted world.

The focus is on man and his relationships, he is interested in mythology and as a keen colorist, he captures everything that concerns him in his works with color. He sometimes deals with issues such as love, joy, revelry, nostalgia, loneliness with a mocking mood. Typical recurring motifs that he loves are, among others: the cyclist, horses, bees, birds, ears of corn, the scarf... The experiential experiences in combination with the exogenous perceptions of the sensitive artist, are transformed effortlessly and creatively..."
