To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

HELLENISMS

HELLENISMS

It is "brighter than the sun" that in recent years our Motherland has entered the "constellation" of decline, national, moral, political, religious, social, economic, cultural, biological, and Hellenism in general is sending out a dramatic SOS. Moral decay, opacity, corruption, scandals, neo-divisive tendencies, media subculture, etc., multi-partyism and party collusion, opportunism, nepotism, nepotism, client state and para-state, imported influx of suspected para-religious organizations, illegal immigrants, demographic shrinkage , social fragmentation, deliberate perpetuation of formality and misrecognition of substance, increase in crime, drugs, accidents, insecurity, epidemic diseases, etc., adulteration of the food chain, rectorship of the intention "in spite of" in all its glory (parapolitics, paraeducation, para-health, para-church, para-sports, para-literature, para-commerce, general para-culture of media, cinema, etc. that cultivate a virtual reality and - to an extent - corrupting the youth), economic impoverishment of millions fellow human beings due to unemployment, emigration, brain drain, psychological and biological withering culminating in the decline of intellectual, literary, artistic creation with high visions, underdeveloped mimicry, rise of passions, mental illnesses, suicides, inconsistency, inconsistency and a maze of lies and promises from the political leadership, etc., constitute the daily tragic scenario of the country with negative effects also on the Hellenism of the diaspora. Plus the tragic fact that Greece "leads" in traffic accidents and tends to become a country of the disabled! It also leads in drug addiction and cosmetic addiction! All these dramas and tragedies make up a dark picture of a country that does not differ in many ways from the Third World. (In 1977 in O.T. we had pointed out that with meritocracy, mismanagement, etc. "we will end up water carriers of Europe"!) What, therefore, is the future of the Motherland, the "famous" Greece, the cradle of democracy whose current reality can be captured in the phrase of a simple person: "Every news and calamity"? Surely, the bones of the nation's heroes and martyrs will crackle! But, instead of reciting the same and the same, about the causes - which are known - and indulge in self-satisfied criticism, let us seriously and honestly reflect on the "because of these":

  • Regarding national issues, memoranda, Cyprus, Turkish neo-imperialism and provocations, refugees, etc., Albanian neo-imperialism, Skopje, the leaderships in recent years have maintained a passive, conciliatory and submissive attitude towards both the aggressors and against powerful "allies" and "friends". And instead of having organized and mobilized the Hellenism of the diaspora, especially university and other important factors, activating and utilizing the mechanisms of defense and assertion of national rights within the framework of international organizations UN, EU, NATO as well as pro-Greek lobbies of foreign countries, they operate without a strategy, incoherently, convulsively, ineffectively, consequently, beyond the cancerous growth of national issues, the Hellenism of the diaspora falters and declines ethnocentrically. For Cyprus, an independent state and member of the UN and the EU, part of it has been under Turkish military occupation for 42 years in violation of UN resolutions and the provisions of International Law. And yet, while it is clearly a question of Turkish invasion and occupation, various circles even of "friendly" and "allied" countries are conspiring and with the cooperation of top UN officials, plans that are not consistent with the spirit and decisions of the Organization. And Turkey also continues its provocations and threats in violation of international Treaties, the UN Charter, the EU and NATO. The same, in collusion with Turkey and others, Albania, which if it survives as a state owes it to Greece to a great extent. Also, Skopje is blackmailed. And while Hellenism should have already risen up, especially in the USA because its then president hurt Greece in the back by accepting the name "Macedonia" for Skopje, and should have demanded its revocation, our leaders are indifferent. Furthermore, despite our unparalleled sacrifices in WW2, Germany which then literally destroyed Greece, while she herself received a scandalous facility to reduce her debt to the Allies to the greatest extent, now refuses to pay the war reparations to Greece and creates obstacles to its exit from the crisis. However, other "allies" and "friends" do not contribute to solving this serious problem. Therefore, it is necessary, as soon as possible, to make use of all Greek and philhellenic bodies and for this reason worthy executives, with patriotic guarantees, conscientiousness, honesty, dedication, enthusiasm, with international experience and know-how, are needed to manage the necessary mechanisms. Especially to prevent divisive tendencies from insiders! And no people (with exceptions) who did not wear the sacred khaki to become ministers and prime ministers! And let everyone remember with pride the tragedy of the murder of the great Kapodistrias, the conviction of the first Hero Kolokotronis, etc. of martyrs and heroes, victims of domestic passions and conspiracies of anti-Greeks with their local blind organs, who divided and destroyed the country which continues, despite the terrible sacrifices for "allies" and "friends", to be constantly under the "Sword of Damocles" of "divide and rule". And yes, "the neck of the Greek cannot bear the yoke", however, he is vulnerable to the indirect and unspoken "slavery" that para-democratic circles conspiratorially impose. Absolute priority is the meritocratic strengthening of the Diplomatic Corps and the Armed Forces and Services and Security Forces by any means to guarantee the integrity of the country from any foreign plot, especially now that Turkey, Albania, Skopje, with the cooperation of powerful directly or indirectly the they conspire. Especially Turkey which - as is well known to the residents of Jerusalem - when faced with internal problems tries to export them to the wider region and at the same time, serving its neo-imperialist plans, to cause artificial crises in which to involve, implicitly blackmailing, the Great etc. Powers and accordingly invest in them. Therefore, since no change in its outrageous policy is in sight, and "friends" and "allies" are indifferent or complicit in the "crime", Greece should, among other parameters, not depend on Turkey for natural gas, etc. .
  • Cracking down on corruption at all levels and recruiting worthy, conscientious and non-corrupt executives who can neutralize this new "Lernaia Hydra" that has "destroyed" and exposed the country internationally, regardless of whether some "friends", who are supposedly interested in address the issue, invest in it. Fighting corruption is also necessary to attract foreign investment, without which growth will be stunted. And in order for the people to be convinced that something is finally being done, the indecency and impunity must stop, all offenders must be brought to justice and punished exemplary, the "stolen" and the funds illegally deposited in foreign banks must be returned, etc. a., and to have a real purification. Otherwise the already dramatic and/or tragic scene of abuses and circumvention of every law will be generalized by all citizens, who will imitate the corrupt powerful, with disastrous consequences for the country.
  • In order to upgrade the high functioning of doctors and nurses, and to reverse the current dramatic climate in the medical and nursing fields, immediate and sincere interest and a generous offer from the state is needed, so that the workers of Hippocrates, who have sacrificed a serious part of their lives them in studies, specialty, etc., apart from the huge financial sacrifices, to feel that they are being paid satisfactorily morally and financially, and not to feel "intruders", and to immigrate by the thousands, something that only happens in Greece because the private profit-making circles they invest in excluding the many especially the best. And in recent years doctors and nurses in public hospitals are forced to work double shifts and undergo other sacrifices in order to save patients. And the state doesn't care! Also characteristic of indifference or partisanship, etc. expediency, is that the "competent" bodies despise and ignore important expatriate organizations that offer valuable financial assistance, etc. in hospitals of the country. However, they "beg" the diaspora to meet current needs, but do not resolve issues related to their adequate functioning and are indifferent to issues pending in court calendars. Also, while distinguished Greek expatriate doctors are willing to volunteer their services here, some raise objections! Unfortunately, what the President of an important expatriate (USA) organization asked in an interview applies today: "Well, do you only see us as dollars?"
  • In order to upgrade the high functioning of the Judges, immediate government care is required for the meritorious staffing of the Courts so that they can conscientiously cope with the flood of issues they face and not need years to adjudicate a simple case. And not politics etc. interventions in the election of Judges and their decisions. The Judiciary must function independently! It is no coincidence that because of any "decline" in the field of justice there are negative phenomena of international fraudsters as well as self-righteousness. However, do the known-unknown circles of power and speculation invest in anarchy and lawlessness?
  • In order to deal with the decline of education and its upgrading, again, worthy and conscientious executives are required, with dedication to this important function, with the necessary national and international know-how, and not top executives, who do not know or falsify for party reasons, etc. a. purposes the genocide of the Pontians or the massacres, and persecutions, etc. to christen them nightmarishly "overcrowding". Also, teachers should be adequately paid and not forced to resort to extra-curricular work. However, unnecessary parasitic tutorials, which only in Greece know such "glory", must be drastically reduced and the teachers, instead of yawning and being bored during the teaching hours because they were teaching especially after midnight, should demonstrate, due to duty, the necessary zeal. And they should pay particular attention to the character of the Greeks, as it has been shaped over the centuries by foreign nightmarish influences that emphasize individuality, competition, while what is needed is group cooperation, rivalry and meritocracy in order to fight the known passions jealousy etc. to exclude the phenomena of Herostratus, Periander and the one who voted for the exile of Aristides because he was tired of hearing that he was just! To cultivate love for the Motherland, for Orthodoxy, for our traditions. Also, to cultivate young people's love of arts and sports and highlight talents! Also, in particular, to teach the causes of the divisions that anti-Hellenic circles have always cultivated and are cultivating for understandable reasons including the linguistic one (cleansing-municipal, monotonic-polytonic). And to stop, at last, the egotism, the unseemly rejection of others, and the arrogance that remind us of: "twelve Palumbians, thirteen captains"! Also to teach them how to protect themselves from the modern scourge of the subculture that cultivates extreme individualism, narcissism and paranormality. But this is what the parasitic local circles and foreign "patrons" want. Colonies are necessary for the imperialists! The same applies to private educational institutions, which should also aim for ideals and not profit. And not for it to happen, as has been revealed by the media, that they "sell" degrees according to the monetary price without merit. Particular emphasis must be placed on the strengthening of Greek education in the diaspora, with priority given to the Greek language! Finally, to teach what is meant by "citizen" and what is private (because "privateism" is too much in the country) and what is meant by "diplomat" so as not to confuse it with the "double" and "double eyes" that some want to take us out.
  • In order to upgrade and strengthen the Armed Forces and the Security Services and Forces, special care is required by the state so that they can face today's serious challenges. That is why meritocratic criteria are required for their staffing and development, and definitely the financial etc. support for self-reliance in the production of the necessary weapons systems and not to perpetuate dependence on third parties! And, also important, without party manipulations and interventions. To faithfully observe, with exceptions, the hierarchy without political interference. The Army must be immune to partisans, etc. pursuits to have his own high opinion and prestige! And an important parameter that seems not to be taken seriously by the relevant leaders, unlike other countries such as America, is the utilization of senior officers, active or retired, of the Armed Forces in advisory positions in critical government services. The anomalous period of the Dictatorship contributed to the current discrediting of the above officials, where some sworn, stupid, willingly or unwittingly bodies of "spinless friends", cooperated in the tragedy of Cyprus, etc. However, it would be a tragic mistake to have a generalization "and together with the dry ones, the green ones also burn". There are executives with broad education and training, with genuine democratic convictions, who can consultatively frame public services where their special knowledge will be constructive. The Security Bodies and Services must be strengthened in various ways so that they can face the challenges of the times and not be replaced by irrelevant, partisan, etc. self- or party-care residents etc. benefits and divide. And there is no democracy when citizens do not feel safe wherever they live and work. There is no democracy when known and unknown hoodlums, etc. they commit crimes. QUID PRODEST? (Who does it serve?) Apparently illegality serves ruthless criminal circles, the parastate, which invests in them. The same applies to the Fire Department and the Traffic, which must be strengthened in various ways and preventive measures must be intensified through education.
  • Establishing a merit-based framework for examinations, recruitment, promotion and assignment of responsibilities to executives at all levels and in all public services. Only when a meritocratic system and social justice will prevail for the Greeks, who due to origin and cultural etc. distinguished, they do not tolerate injustice, their overspending by inferiors due to bribery, they will not react negatively and they will stand out! Also, a fair tax system must be established. And no more bureaucracy! How will we attract investments?
  • Church leaders must also rise to the height of responsibilities and circumstances, and inspired by the God-man himself, the Saints, and Martyrs, imitate them (without, of course, overlooking the weaknesses of human nature) and give more importance in essence, which means practical application of Christ's teaching, genuine worship and not formulaic worship and extreme dogmatism, as well as in social giving, with sacrifice and self-sacrifice for the redemption not of the "condemned" by diligent "servants" of God, but of his children God! And to stop the ritual division ("piety" - "reign" etc.) And to start a benevolent dialogue with the leaders of other denominations so that, finally, a ground of real peaceful coexistence can be found as Christ teaches and not to "divide His garments"! Also, they should be created ethically, etc. incentives so that people with real qualifications and not irrelevant and inappropriate people follow the priestly function simply to cover formal positions.
  • The great Journalistic function should not be influenced by party, guild and profit interests in order to fully fulfill its high mission. The mass media in particular play a key role in informing and shaping public opinion. They constitute implicit "superpower". That is why the state must support journalism schools that have the necessary infrastructure in terms of human resources, etc. so that the journalists who graduate have the ethical, moral and scientific guarantees to be real functionaries and not "placeholders" of uncritical, anti-ethical "products" of advertisements, partisans, etc. of by-products that corrupt, divide, fragment. Also, journalists must show the example of meritocracy but also simplicity and dignity, and not - many - be arrogant, arrogant and discriminate because of partisanship, etc. unmeritorious expedients and thus correct and complete information suffers. Especially in the channels they recycle the same and the same to the exclusion of better ones. Of course, mainly responsible are the business owners who are only interested in profit sacrificing values, ideally. That is why there is a need for democratic control by the state in terms of their ethically correct functioning in genuine democratic contexts of rivalry and not stiff competition aimed at disorientation, distortion of the truth, falsification of facts, etc. And not for ads to determine their schedule! Notably, we are the only country in the world that has an excessive number of newspapers and magazines in circulation in proportion to population. And it is known that many publications "stealth live", "parasitic" with covert funding, etc. And it is sad that the "fascist" way of advertising replaces the state and "controls" the media, etc.
  • The country is facing a serious demographic problem whose negative effects will be seen more dramatically in the future. But how can there be a solution when unemployment has hit red and young people do not have the possibility to create a family, which means future suicide of the country? Incentives should be created, unemployment should be significantly reduced and youth employment should be proposed as a primary national issue. Large families should also be supported in every way! This crucial issue was raised by great scientists (Valaoras, Polyzos) and still is (Belios), but the state is indifferent!
  • A comprehensive strategic decentralization plan is required so that, with an organized retention of young people and the return of others to the province, the primary sector can be stimulated which can make a key contribution to the development of the economy with well-organized exports, etc. The Greek province stands out for its wealth of goods which, if utilized, will do wonders. It will also be strengthened demographically and qualitatively in order to stop the mentality of redevelopment which, due to the migration of brains and working hands, as well as party members etc. divisive parameters, has literally fragmented the province. "Returning to nature" should be an axiom! But, at the same time, radical measures and infrastructure projects are needed such as rural roads, reclamation, easy access to medical care, etc. And not that the forest service has turned into a super-state and determines, often irrationally and "fascistly", the property of the residents for which their ancestors, as well as themselves, poured a lot of sweat! Special care should be taken for the development of rural, religious, historical etc. tourism. The great Professor Kyriakos Varvaresos from the 50s emphasized the need for decentralization and the creation of rural towns, but "a voice of shouting in the desert". In the vast "desert" of party and para-party complicated intertwining!
  • As far as the cultural descent is concerned, the decline of the Greek language is particularly worrying, especially in the diaspora where, as a rule, the second and subsequent generations are cut off from it. Therefore, a strategy is needed by the state and by those organizations that can contribute to the upgrading of the language with the cooperation of the church, university circles abroad, NGOs, etc. The decline of the language, especially in the Hellenism of the Diaspora, is also due to the fact that some problematic people, with a fluid conscience, are bought over by anti-Hellenic circles and try to divide. That is why they need the right people in embassies, churches, associations, etc. to manage the issue effectively. Incentives must be created for the repatriation of Greeks abroad who, with their know-how, can help the development of the country.
  • Also, there is a need for support, on merit, of the literary and artistic bodies, where party etc. circuits triumph by projecting mediocrity while worthy creators are marginalized and "who pays" and "what sells" applies!

However, in order to implement the above, there must be an appropriate national infrastructure as well as a sense of measure, logic and prevention. First of all, suitable politicians-legislators are needed to revise the Constitution so that the people are served genuinely democratically and meritoriously, and to establish laws that respond to today's national and international conditions, and - most importantly - to be implemented! And not simply become "rag papers" like, in some cases, the UN Charter and resolutions, the UN Declaration of Human Rights, etc. There is no democracy without discipline, without strict laws where they are imposed, and not for the country to be flooded with illegals who go in and out of prisons and threaten the legitimacy, peace and tranquility of law-abiding citizens. Extreme leniency does not serve the public interest, but the "parastate" and those who gain privileges from it even illegally and immorally by threatening to break the social fabric! Perhaps, however, this is what the "known-unknown" seek! Also, if the mindset is not changed at all levels of leadership and national unity and unity is not forged, sacrificing party or guild costs, and in the interest of the people, we will be cancerous in dilemmas of choosing "protectors" like a colony. After the "liberation" (in essence the people have not been completely liberated) there were the friend-English, friend-French and friend-Russian parties. Later, America succeeded M.B. and ostracized the rest and monopolizes the "supremacy". However, there are some indications of anomalous return to the distant past, but perhaps a friend-Chinese is in its infancy, so to speak. In parallel with Cavafy's "barbarians", we would say comic-tragic: What would we do without "protectors"? As far as "friends" and "allies" are concerned, the question comes back time after time: Who took care of the Asia Minor disaster, the loss of Northern Epirus, part of Cyprus being under Turkish occupation, Imia, Skopje being called "Macedonia", Turkey to openly threaten etc.? Perhaps leaders and people should re-study Thucydides! He was the first to point out that relations between states are based on interest! But, apart from "allies" and "friends", others from Anatolia, who presented themselves as "friends", what did they do when the Turkish troops invaded Cyprus? "They invented the island"! And now what are they doing about the neo-imperialist challenges against Greece? Therefore, does it take a lot of philosophy to realize something that other small countries have long ago, that what is important is internal cohesion, consensus and a sound strategy to deal with the key national problems? Also, that globalization means the multifaceted, multifaceted and in every way diffusion, penetration and enforcement of the power and interests of the powerful. And that power is like the air that when and wherever it finds a void covers it! And woe betide the states that have "gaps".

Ultimately, the eternal question is asked by everyone: "Is there light at the tunnel"? There is a solution; Who will hear the SOS and respond? When there is social fragmentation and insecurity and for a section of the people, the folk saying "where the dog eats, the dog barks" applies! There are no magic wands or automatic recipes. Proper information, organization, vigilance and resistance of the people is the best omen! And let the politicians set an example. Let the truly worthy and honest ones emerge, let the opacity that has caused so much suffering be neutralized, let the partisanship that has "divided" the Motherland and nepotism stop, let the parties and the number of MPs be significantly reduced, let the unnecessary expenses be cut , salaries and rusfetological recruitments, let them stop considering politics as a trade, but consider it as a supreme art and act as POLITICIANS in the ancient Greek meaning of the term! And, finally, let them consent to the vital issues with the national interest in mind, the interest of the people in general, and not the individual, party or guild. And let the so-called strikes stop, which according to observers are sometimes organized by the rulers themselves for disorientation, which simply means strike after strike without result. Or, rather, the result is the party takeover and promotion of trade unionists and the same again. What is needed, as long as the problems continue and the authorities turn a deaf ear, is a universal, nationwide strike with Greek flags (the burning of which should be severely punished!) with a demand, here and now, for a national political consensus on merit for the decision-making that take the country out of the general crisis, dealing effectively with national issues, and opening the way for development and prosperity. Do we need to remember and imitate the wise and always timely Gandhi, who managed to inspire his people and "defeat", without even firing a shot or any violence, an entire empire? Or is there a need for a Kapodistrian, Kolokotronis and Nikitaras, who, however, the people will be vigilant and have them as the "apple of the eye" and an icon? HURRY UP!
