After the revelations of Documento, Vimas and Neos on the subject of interceptions by Predator, Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave an interview where he confirmed the data that came to light. Nevertheless, the prime minister denied any involvement of himself and his government.
In the interview that Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave on Monday, November 7, to Nikos Hatzinikolaou and ANT1, he was forced to admit that there is a center that handles Predator accounting, since the newspaper reports left no room for further investigation.
"I have never claimed - and the government has not claimed - that there is no monitoring and control center operating the Predator software. This is quite different from accusing the Prime Minister of orchestrating this effort. They are two completely different things. From the first moment we accepted that there is a problem of illegal software in the country and we are called this mess...", the Prime Minister stated in the interview.
Despite all this, ignorance was expressed as to who had set up the monitoring center. "I am not familiar. And we need to know it. We will be the first country to untangle this mess and pass a law that will explicitly prohibit the sale of such software in our country. No other country has done it. All countries had their respective problems. And we are not sure who might be trafficking these centers. What we are absolutely sure of is that the EYP it wasn't her. And obviously I had no involvement."
In his interview, the prime minister emphasized again that the accusations against him and the government come from some who want to cause damage to his work, which aims to drag the country in a direction of modernization. "Obviously this effort has disturbed many and that is why they are using all means to fight me in every way and for every purpose."
