White House – May 4, 2026
“We are once again a nation of makers thanks to President Trump’s historic victories for Main Street, and I am honored to celebrate National Small Business Week with him, alongside the people who create jobs and support our local communities — especially as America celebrates 250 years of freedom and free enterprise.
By rapidly implementing his “America First” agenda, President Trump has reduced taxes and regulations, restored fair trade and public safety, and put an end to the “Green New Scam,” fraud, DEI, and open border policies that threatened economic stability under the previous administration.
The nation’s 36 million small businesses now have the confidence to hire, reinvest, and expand, unleashing a historic period of sustainable growth. America is open for business again.”
said SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler.
Today, President Donald J. Trump will meet with small business owners from across the country to honor National Small Business Week and highlight the impressive renaissance of Main Street through “America First” policies.
As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of freedom and free enterprise, the Trump administration claims to have achieved unprecedented results for the country's 36 million small businesses, which it describes as the real driving force of job creation, innovation and the prosperity of local communities.
The main measures announced by the Trump administration in favor of small businesses:
Tax breaks for Main Street
President Trump signed the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which makes the small business tax credit permanent, restores full tax deductions for equipment and expansion investments, increases workers' take-home pay, and expands Opportunity Zones for investment in underserved areas.
Reduction of regulations and bureaucracy
The government created a special deregulation task force (“Deregulation Strike Force”), which, according to the White House, eliminated more than $110 billion in regulatory costs for small businesses in one year.
Historic support through SBA
In fiscal year 2025, the Small Business Administration (SBA) provided $45 billion in guarantees through 7(a) and 504 loan programs to more than 85.000 small businesses — the highest level in the agency's history.
New industrial renaissance
The SBA launched a special lending program for small manufacturers for the first time, eliminating most upfront fees and expanding guarantees for critical supply chains.
Supporting American manufacturing
New procurement tools, such as the “Make Onshoring Great Again Portal,” help businesses find American suppliers and components made in the US.
Ending costly bureaucracy
The government has suspended the implementation of Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements, claiming that this will save billions of dollars for small businesses.
“America First” policy
The SBA has made reforms such as verifying citizenship for loan applicants and moving offices out of “sanctuary cities” so that — according to the government — taxpayer money can support American entrepreneurs.
Protection of franchises
The Trump administration repealed the Obama-era “Joint Employer Rule,” which it viewed as a threat to franchise owners and the jobs they create.
According to the White House, all of these measures have restored small business confidence in the American economy, with an increase in hiring, investment, and overall market optimism.
