To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

"THE MAD GREEK": NIKOS K. CHRISTOFILOS

NIKOS K.CHRISTOFILOS

It is neither original nor paradoxical that Greek scientists, while excelling abroad, are, as a rule, marginalized or ignored in their own country. One such typical case is that of the late Nikos K. Christofilos (originally from Kollines, Arcadia, and his father owned the famous café-patisserie on Panepistimiou Street "ATTIKO"), who was a genius in Physics and Mathematics, and in the 50s he invented the famous SYNCHROTRON or ARGUS and sent his invention to the USA, but without receiving an immediate response. And about a year later he read in the magazine READERS' DIGEST that two Americans had invented the same thing. Fortunately, he had sent his invention by registered mail, and he replied that he had come up with it himself! In two days, FBI officials came to Greece, got him a visa, etc., and took him to America where he became Head of a special worksite dealing with nuclear energy, and along the way he built the famous US Anti-Nuclear Umbrella!!! And later the magazine READERS' DIGEST wrote a special article in his honor with praise entitled “THE CRAZY GREEK” (O crazy Greek) because his theory about the nuclear umbrella was considered improbable!

This is, in short, the story of Nikos Christofilos, who honored Greece and America honored him with important awards, and was nominated for the Nobel Prize, but Greece ignores him. Shouldn't a bust or at least a commemorative plaque be placed in Tripoli or in his village (where, after decades, a bust of the hero Jason Kalabokas was placed, who in World War II as a Lieutenant and collaborator of British Counterintelligence discovered a Swedish ship that was secretly transporting weapons to the Nazis, notified the British who sent warplanes and sank it, but some bastards betrayed him and the Nazis murdered him. There is a bust of him on the beach of Chios and every year the Island Authorities honor him. And a memorial column has also been erected for the also hero Elias Dimos, the first Arcadian who was killed in Crete fighting the Nazis!)

Doesn't the great inventor Nikos Christofilos deserve to be honored as well?

In conclusion, the tragic conclusion is that Greece is a very rare and precious Gold Mine of Brains, and that is why the powerful "friends" and "allies" are taking care by every means, especially within the framework of "Divide and Conquer" (Divide et Impera), to have it under constant surveillance and control and to bleed it dry. That is why they are not resolving our just national issues (Northern Epirus, Cyprus issue, Skopje, Turkish neo-imperialism, etc.).

And what are our own leaderships here and in the Diaspora doing?

The conclusions are known to the inhabitants of Jerusalem!
