To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Milk thistle: an ally and treasure for health

Silybum marianum, milk thistle are his names, and he is a member of the family Asteraceae. Known in the Mediterranean, but known all over the world because it benefits our health in many ways.

Among its ingredients are vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytosterols... and while we often mention these words without realizing their value, consider that "antioxidants" are essential for the health of our cells, that is, the cornerstone of our life. Antioxidant ingredients mean a shield against cancer and free radicals, but milk thistle also has anti-inflammatory effects, which means that it acts beneficially in many different parts of our body, shielding it against any form of inflammation or swelling.

Milk thistle is mainly known for its action in supporting liver function (especially the seeds, when drunk in a drink). This is the reason why most people have associated its name with the health of the organ, and for this reason it is good to make it part of our daily routine.

However, it can also support our digestive system (in cases of constipation or discomfort) and the gallbladder. In general, it helps to detoxify the body by targeting the right points for this purpose.

The use of the herb in the respiratory tract can also prove useful, as it combats coughs and sore throats, while also strengthening the immune system.

The plant can be used either in supplement form (powder, capsule), but the natural herb can offer its dried leaves (for tea), or its seeds (for tea, infusion, etc.). Some make an even more “natural” use of the herb, using its leaves in salads, along with other aromatics (lemon, oil, etc.).
