The evening of the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies (EL.I.S.M.E.) on the topic "Assessment of the Work of the United Nations, on the Occasion of the 80th Anniversary of its Establishment", was a substantial opportunity to reflect on the role, successes and challenges of the UN on the modern world stage.
The following is expected with particular interest: speech by Mr. Panagiotis Karafotias, former Managing Director of the UN Office and member of EL.I.S.M.E., who, with his many years of experience in international organizations and deep knowledge of geopolitical developments, will offer a sober and documented assessment of the Organization's eighty-year history.
His position aspires to shed light on the timeless principles and values of the UN, but also to highlight the new challenges faced by an institution that continues to be a pillar of international law and the peaceful coexistence of peoples.
