The Global Hippocratic Institute of Physicians (GDHI) is an organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and promoting the legacy of Hippocrates, the father of Western Medicine. Based in Greece, the birthplace of Hippocrates, and with a strong international presence, the Institute acts as a bridge between the past and the future of medical science. GDHI has been active since 2021 and has a vision of a world where the principles of Hippocrates, ethics, excellence, scientific knowledge and care for human well-being, are the cornerstones of every aspect of modern medical practice. Ø Bucharest, Romania: Event in honor of Hippocrates

Ø Running race with athletes with the participation of Special Olympics in Kos
Ø Providing medical assistance at the Panhellenic and international Special Olympics competitions, in collaboration with the Hellenic Red Cross
Ø Participation in the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin with the Secretary General of GDHI Dr. Antonis Polydorou
As part of our actions, we plan each year the Hippocratic Week - Hippocratic School, an initiative of an educational, cultural and scientific nature, which is co-organized with:
- the Medical School of the National University of Athens
- the Medical School of the University of Thessaly (Larissa)
- the Athens Medical Association
- the International Hippocratic Foundation of Kos
- the Municipality of Kos
- the South Aegean Region
- and the "Hippocrates" Association in Larissa
The "Hippocratic Week" was established by the GDHI in 2022, within the framework of the 1st Congress of Greek Doctors in the Diaspora in Melbourne, an initiative of our President Dr. G. Patoulis, with the participation of the Vice President of the Institute Dr. K. Pantos, the Secretary General Dr. A. Polydoros, the honorary member and Deputy Minister of Health M. Themistokleous, and the GDHI member Dr. V. Polydoros. After the successful organization of previous years, this year it is expanded with a rich and multi-thematic educational program, events and speeches, which will be held in Athens, Larissa and Kos, with the participation of 50 medical students and professors from Greece and abroad, as well as distinguished doctors of various specialties.
Through Hippocratic Week, we offer young doctors the opportunity to learn in depth about the history of Western Medicine and to understand the roots of their science through an experiential, educational context. The preservation of the Hippocratic Oath and the transmission of the humanitarian and ethical values it advocates are a cornerstone for the cultivation of a meaningful and responsible medical ethos. Hippocratic Week – Hippocratic School is an international educational experience that bridges the past with the present and future of Medicine, offering participants the tools and inspiration to become carriers of these values in their communities around the world with the motto Hippocrates unites all doctors around the world.
