“Once upon a time, a Clean Monday” and the fairy tale created by Macedonian Halvas to support the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece
Macedonian Halvas created a fairy tale for Clean Monday this year, “Once Upon a Time on Clean Monday”, in order to support the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece, enhancing equal access for children with visual impairments to knowledge and imagination!
Macedonian Halva, for more than a century, has united us around the Lenten table and reminded us that Clean Monday is a tradition that, as we share it, brings us closer. So, on the occasion of this year's Clean Monday, he created a fairy tale to remind us that the most beautiful stories are made together.
"Once upon a time on a Clean Monday", in a small village, little Odysseus and his friends are preparing to fly their kite, but it gets tangled in the strict neighbor's walnut tree, so everything indicates that the celebration will be ruined. However, an unexpected act of kindness brings young and old together, revealing that behind every distance there may be a story worth sharing.
On the site katharadeftera.gr, visitors can read the fairy tale, see instructions on how to make their own kite, find tips on how to fly it as high as possible, as well as participate in a contest with a prize of favorite products. At the same time, Macedonian Halvas is implementing a substantial social contribution initiative this year, practically highlighting the power of care and inclusion. Specifically, Macedonian Halvas supports the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece, covering the costs of producing children's audiobooks and children's literature books in Braille. Through this initiative, it enhances the access of children with visual impairments to the magical world of books, practically supporting equal access to knowledge and imagination. Because every child deserves to hear a story.
This initiative is part of the broader context of this year's Macedonian Halva campaign entitled "A Clean Monday and Once Upon a Time", which highlights the warmth of this day, the power of company and the joy of being all together.
