I have given a lot of thought and thought to expressing my opinion on the hotly debated topic of same-sex marriage and procreation. I love the progress and especially of my country, but family traditions have taught me that marriage is the union of a man and a woman. The word marriage, moreover, like the verb from which it is derived, has for the man the meaning of sexual intercourse and the performance of the sexual act on the part of the active member, hence the word bridegroom. Both nature and Christian principles impose this. On the other hand, however, I believe that people with special needs should have equal rights in society. Society is moving forward and the state has already rehabilitated them with the Coexistence Agreement, which ensures their legal and undignified life.
The issue of procreation (and not procreation) in any way achieved, escapes the cohabitation agreement, causing various problems to be solved. I refuse to accept the term "surrogate mother", because it dares to discredit the sacred concept of mother, turning the woman into a "machine"... preferably... robots! The most important thing about childbearing is, in my view, the matter of raising children. I believe, as the scientists claim, that homosexuality is not hereditary, but I am concerned whether these children will react smoothly when they grow up and realize who their parents are. Shouldn't we consider what consequences this reaction might have?
So I come to the thought that same-sex couples, as long as they love children and are willing to commit to them, can easily function, like regular couples, and proceed with adoption. It is certain that the parental care they will offer them will be far superior to that offered in groups in orphanages. Therefore, a simple extension of the Cohabitation Agreement to the issue of having children would be sufficient.
Society evolves and this is normal, but we can never be sure of its good or bad evolution, which is why we should not be absolute in our positions, nor should we all try to agree. The state, for its part, does not, I believe, have to comply without difficulty with instructions imposed from outside, because each people has its own psyche and mentality. Its goal must be to create those conditions that will protect the lives of its citizens from trauma and danger.
In closing, I am reminded of the unique humor of KYR about the controversial bill "for marriage they will say: God's servant Number 1 is engaged, God's servant Number 2, and Number 2 should be afraid of Number 1"!…
