To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Anniversary note. June 26. The UN map

Briefly, after the Inter-Allied Declaration in London in 1941, the Atlantic Charter in the same year with the secret code "ARCADIA", the United Nations Declaration in 1942, the Moscow and Tehran Conferences in 1943 and the Yalta Conference in 1944, the San Francisco Conference (April 25-June 26, 1945) followed, where Representatives of 50 states agreed on the Charter which was approved and signed by all and entered into force on October 24 (which is celebrated worldwide as UN Day) when the five Great Powers and the majority of the above Members ratified it. It is worth noting that 78 tons of paper were needed to draft it!

The Charter begins with the phrase “We the peoples of the United Nations,” and ends with the phrase “We the Governments.” According to the Charter, the cornerstone of the Organization is the principle of the sovereign equality of all its Members and the principle of Collective Security.

Also, the Charter refers to "a threat to international peace, that is, when the threat crosses the borders of a country, and not against world peace! And peace does not simply mean the absence of war, but the absence of the causes that cause wars. Furthermore, in order to become a UN Member State, it had to be peace-loving. However, later, for reasons of expediency, this principle ceased to apply. A typical example is Turkey, but also other pro-war states.
The UN, in its 86 years of operation, with its dozens of Organizations, has provided valuable work, especially when and where the Great Powers, the Five Permanent Members of the Security Council agreed, especially with Peacekeeping Operations.
But, unfortunately, we observe with sadness and disappointment that some powerful leaders no longer respect the Charter, which was founded on the approximately 80 million human victims in the two World Wars, they discredit and undermine it as they did in the League, where the American and French ministers Kellogg and Briand proposed the abolition of wars in general, but it was rejected because in the meantime the producers and traders of weapons systems had become a state within a state. And they continue to support military conflicts, genocides, etc. and not to contribute to the consolidation of peace. People have lost their value in the face of profits! Millions have died so far in the war in Ukraine, the Middle East, etc. According to journalistic information, the war in Ukraine in 2025 brought 255 billion dollars in profits to the US arms industry! No comment!

For 51 whole years, Turkish troops have continued to illegally occupy the territory of the Republic of Cyprus in violation of dozens of UN resolutions, and yet powerful "allies" and "friends" tolerate them in violation of the Charter!
And other similar examples in other countries. However, the powerful leaders are indifferent and the only thing they are interested in is business! They undermine the UN and its Organizations, make former arch-terrorists heads of state, and do not solve serious problems of states for centuries because, quite simply, wars sell, peace does not. Should we fear a new Babel and a new Sodom and Gomorrah and a new cataclysm where, however, there will be no ark of salvation? "WHY"!
