Ioanna Atsalaki holds a PhD from the Technical University of Crete in the field of Production and Management Engineering, with specialization in strategic management, total quality management and applications of artificial intelligence in economics, finance and tourism. Born in 1990 and based in Chania, she combines high-level academic knowledge with many years of professional experience in business and service management. Her undergraduate studies were carried out at the University of Patras in the Department of Agricultural and Food Business Management, while she continued with postgraduate studies at the Technical University of Crete in Organization and Management. In 2022, she was awarded a PhD from the same institution, with research work focusing on strategic planning, neuro-fuzzy systems and forecasts in economic and financial systems. In addition to her academic career, she has extensive professional experience in business administration and operations. She has worked in an accounting firm, while from 2011 to the present she has been managing tourist accommodations and a catering business, applying modern methods of strategic management and quality organization in practice. In addition, she participated in a European know-how transfer program in the field of banking and financial education to universities in Indonesia. In the academic field, she has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Technical University of Crete since 2022, in both Greek-speaking and English-speaking study programs. Her teaching work includes courses in Strategic Planning, Total Quality Management, Financial Engineering and Business Economics and Finance, actively contributing to the formation of new scientists with interdisciplinary thinking. Her research work is extensive and internationally recognized, with publications in prestigious scientific journals, participation in international conferences and writing scientific books. Her work records a significant number of references in the international bibliography and focuses on innovative applications of artificial intelligence, strategic forecasting and financial analysis. She speaks fluent English and has basic knowledge of German. Her personal interests include sports, music, travel, research and gastronomy, elements that complement her multidimensional professional and academic profile.
