Dionysis Kalambrezos was born in Zakynthos, where he finished the sixth grade of high school. He studied law in Athens and continued his postgraduate studies in international law and modern European history in London (LSE) and Paris (PARIS-II). He also wrote a doctoral thesis on Hellenism in Russia/USSR. He served his military service in the Navy and subsequently entered the Diplomatic Service. He has served in the Embassies of Greece in Moscow, as Head of the Consular Office, in Beijing, as Deputy Head and in Brussels, as Ambassador for the period 2019-2023, in the Permanent Missions of Greece to the UN (New York), where he served twice, the last time (2016-2019) as Deputy Head. Permanent Representative, and to the European Union, while he has been assigned special missions to Tbilisi and Nicosia. During his stay at the Central Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he served in the Directorates for Balkan countries, for bilateral relations with the USA, for the UN and other international organizations, as well as for economic relations of Greece with Western countries. His political fiction novels An Incident in the Years of the Diarchy (published by Roes, 1987), The Disease and the Lotus Flower (published by Aeolus, 1995), Moscow - New York, the Inverted World (published by Livani 2002), Virtual Nightmare (published by Papazisi, 2023) and the collections of short stories The Machine Stopped (published by Aeolus, 2006), Stories of Hermits, Castaways and Exiles (published by Aeolus, 1995) and Multiple World (published by Aeolus, 2006) have also been published. His academic-diplomatic work Hellenism in Russia and in other countries of the former USSR has also been published. Short history, crises after 1991, Greek interventions, perspectives, from Papazisis publications in 2017. His articles and works on issues of international law and politics, on historical issues, on issues of Hellenism in the former USSR, as well as on science fiction literature have been published in newspapers and magazines. He speaks English, French, Spanish and Russian. He lives in Brussels and is a member of many scientific and social organizations, including organizations for the Greek Diaspora. He is married and has three children.
