To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Henry Miller, 1891-1980, American author

MY GOD

MY GOD

Don't listen to me and be sad and look me in the eyes, my soul is too deep, you can't read it. I set out on a long journey and I'm going, but wherever I end up I'll be here, only I won't leave you. I'll come to your sleep to sweetly caress you, and because it hurt you so much, I'll make a song of it...

THE POEM

THE POEM

Conception takes place in the heart from the pairing of pain and despair. In the prison of silence, thoughts are born and they beg you to give them a voice. It has nothing to do with the mind, with logic. Only with the heart and emotion. When...

ORIGIN

I was lulled to sleep by the voice of the megaphone shouting 'restriction, everyone in the houses slaves'. I met death as a small child when they brought for burial gossip, young men whom the English killed for freedom, don't tell. Then came the Turkish...

IF

IF

If love is a wound that opens the knife, it would be a joy if it came from your own hand. If embrace is a fire that burns my world, I would only want you to come and light it. If your beautiful eyes kill like swords, let it be that you look at me and let it make me...

ITHELLA

I'M NOT LEAVING

I'M NOT LEAVING

If one day they suddenly bring you the news that my soul flew lightly to the stars, without a farewell or words of apology, don't be sad. All day from above I will have wings spread, a blanket of joy in your home in the difficult unbuttoning, in every pain...

October 28 1940

Our twelve Gods fled from Olympus and the mountains of Pindos became thousands. The whole of Greece was shaken to its foundations by the noise of NO, 'the enemy will not pass' They swore a heavy oath for freedom and the dunias scared them and immediately they knelt...

IN THE ENSLAVED SOILS

IN THE ENSLAVED SOILS

In the enslaved lands my mind wanders, my heart sighs, as if the earth is cracking. In the house where I was born my soul stayed, sergiani comes out and steps on my bloody land. In the streets where I walked and played as a child, footsteps lead me...

KYRENIA-PENTADAKTYLOS

Lion the Pentadaktylos roars, in his bowels medicine and fire, he trembles all the time, he does not sleep, he looks around him with a wild look. Armies of heroes in his chest rumble, few weapons but a steel heart, unburied youths roam in the middle of the night and...
