I'm Paul James, a retired professional chef, published author, food and travel writer, broadcaster and hospitality consultant with a lifelong passion for food, people, culture and the stories that bring them together. My career in hospitality has taken me far beyond the professional kitchen. Food has always been at the heart of my life, giving me the opportunity to explore different countries, discover traditional recipes, meet remarkable people and learn about the history, heritage and traditions behind the dishes we enjoy. My particular passion lies in Greece and the Mediterranean, where food, family, tradition and community are so deeply connected. Through my writing, broadcasting and culinary projects, I share the recipes, stories, traditions and experiences that make these places so special. I am the author of many books, including Paul James's Corfu Odyssey, and I continue to develop new cookbooks, television concepts and food-related publications. My work also includes Recipes from My Travels, through which I share recipes and culinary stories inspired by my experiences around the world. I am also the founder of Port to Plate Media Group, a growing media platform bringing together food, hospitality, culinary culture, travel and storytelling. Through Port to Plate Media Group, I am developing a portfolio of media projects, publications, television concepts, digital content and international partnerships designed to connect people with the places, food, experiences and people behind the stories. One of my key projects is the development of a Hospitality Business Directory, created to showcase hospitality businesses on a truly global scale. The directory is intended to provide a platform for restaurants, cafés, hotels, bars, chefs, food producers, hospitality services and other businesses connected to the industry. The vision is not limited to the United Kingdom, the United States or Greece. The aim is to build an international directory showcasing hospitality businesses from around the world, giving businesses an opportunity to be discovered by new customers, travelers, hospitality professionals and a wider global audience. Alongside my media work, I continue to work as a hospitality consultant, drawing on my professional experience to support hospitality businesses, culinary projects and food-related ventures. I am passionate about helping businesses tell their stories, develop their identity and connect with their audiences. I am also a radio host and presenter, food and travel writer and contributor, sharing my knowledge and experiences through broadcasting, publishing and digital media. My work is ultimately about people. Whether I am cooking a traditional recipe, sitting with a local family, exploring a village, visiting a market or talking to someone about their business, I believe every dish, destination and hospitality business has a story to tell. Through my books, broadcasting, writing, hospitality consultancy and Port to Plate Media Group, my aim is to preserve culinary heritage, celebrate food and culture, support hospitality businesses and create opportunities for businesses and people to connect across borders. This is more than simply food for me. It is about memories, heritage, community, experiences and the people behind every plate.
