I was blessed and honored to be invited to the book presentation of a good friend and a man who has the courage to speak his mind and express the truth of his soul without fear but with great passion through poetry and his emotionally rich written word.
The presentation of Kostas Katechis' book was the occasion for those of us who attended to experience, through the recitation of his poems, a deep spiritual connection, reaching the point of tears from emotion.
Having read many of his excellent poems, I chose to recite his poem "Freedom" which touched me deeply.
The book The Cry of the Columns, published by Mrs. Ioanna Lazarou and her publishing house Businessrise, is a 300-page poetic collection full of the aromas and images of Ancient Greece.
In this book, the poet Kostas Katechis evokes a multitude of emotions in readers, sometimes using a sarcastic style, sometimes romantic, sometimes nostalgic and sad.
Kostas Katechis, a supporter of Believe it or not, investigate (i.e. whether someone believes or does not believe, they must investigate and question themselves), through his poems does not hesitate to question, raise questions, but also to causticize issues that have become entrenched in the minds and souls of Greek society and people in general.
His poems are characterized by the presence of archetypal symbols that exist in the collective unconscious of humanity and play a decisive role in the cultivation of the human spirit and soul.
Among the most important archetypes we encounter in his poems are those of the Mother, Nature, the Hero, and the homeland that embraces and hosts collective memory.
Kostas' poems are dominated by experience, memory, and knowledge acquired through many years of study and observation.

The longing for the homeland and the pain of the loss of cultural heritage become evident in his writing.
In his poem Lost Spring he states characteristically:
May Holy Nature heal the wounds that have been inflicted upon her
we opened our profitable run
and hope will be alive again,
Since a handful of soil is everything
And a smile is worth everything in life.
Kostas, I sincerely hope that your book travels well and that you continue to express yourself and inspire your readers through your writing, putting pieces of the wealth that exists in your soul on paper.
