After the resignation of Grigoris Dimitriadis due to the wiretapping issue, Yannis Bratakos, president EBEA.
The responsibilities of Yiannis Bratakos will be those of the General Secretary of the Prime Minister, as announced by the government representative Yiannis Oikonomou.
The swearing-in will take place on Friday, September 2, but informally G. Bratakos has already assumed his duties.
It is recalled that the name of Mr. Bratakos was announced immediately after the resignation of Dimitriadis, however, he was delayed in assuming his duties for formal reasons, as he is the president of EBEA. In fact, the decision to "appoint" a Deputy Minister is aimed at giving him the opportunity to officially assume duties immediately, without having to wait for a period after his resignation and the election of a new president of the EBEA, as is foreseen for institutional persons who assume government positions, such as the Prime Minister's Secretary of State.
After all, as a deputy minister, Mr. Bratakos will be able to speak in the Parliament and possibly take on a share of the parliamentary burden, having the additional "trump card" of being a well-known centre-right executive of the market.
