At noon yesterday (November 12, 2025), thirty (30) foreign men, who were being held in the Fourth Wing of the Sintiki Special Detention Facility in Serres, attempted to dismantle part of the internal fence, but were unable to escape from the Facility.
After the immediate mobilization of the police forces, the aforementioned were arrested and a case was filed against them for the - as the case may be - offenses of resisting prisoners, attempting to escape, incitement to commit crimes and violence against officials and judicial personnel.
3 police officers were injured, who were transferred to local health facilities and left after receiving medical care.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Serres Crime Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate.
The arrested, with the case file filed against them, will be brought to the Serres District Court Prosecutor's Office.
