''Our words are those of many people. '' G. Seferis
Since the time of Sappho and Greek antiquity, the healing power of writing has been recognized. Writing, much more powerful than spoken words that are uttered at the exact same moment, is a form of communication with immense power. A process of connecting the mind and soul that stimulates the imagination, ignites creativity, and gives hope.
Expressive writing is a creative and liberating process in which the goal is not to produce a literary work. We do not write for the ''right'', but for the true, in order to create the space for expressing inner experience. The goal is not interpretation and evaluation. It is self-expression itself that will function as a container for emotions and thoughts. It is a form of expressive therapy whose central axis is the natural expression of the emotional world of people. It can take the form of a letter, a diary, a fairy tale, a dialogue or an internal monologue. A dive in search of the unspeakable. Wandering the uncharted paths of the soul. Walking them, you recall memories, discover hidden emotions, decode your inner map.
The creation of an expressive writing group aims to externalize the lived experience. In a new reading of it. It is an experiential method of self-knowledge and personal development, in which writing is used as a tool for internal connection, relief and communication. It is a form of therapy through which emotional release and internal clarification is achieved, anxiety is reduced and mental resilience is strengthened. At the same time, repetitive patterns of behavior are recognized, paving the way for the expansion of communication skills and, consequently, the gradual improvement of interpersonal relationships. Words become mirrors of the soul. Sometimes heavy as stones. Sometimes clumsy, perhaps scattered. But always loaded with the weight of what was not said. They carry memories, silences, traumas, hopes, expectations, dreams. They become bridges between what we were and what we are becoming. The game of writing hides the power of liberation. From our inner demons. The shadows that dwell within us. The ghosts that return.
Excerpt from Postscript
Every human being, starting the unique journey of her life, knows only the destination. She is unaware of the exact itinerary. She is unable to determine its duration. However, she has the ability to choose. What she will take with her in her luggage. At which stations she will get off. In other words, she has the freedom to take risks. And all of this is precisely what makes her charming. Mainly tragic. By way of introduction.
