"People alone, far from their homeland and family, without knowing the language, the laws or the procedures. People who didn't know where to turn, what document they needed or what their next step should be."
I saw our compatriots unable to travel to embassies and consulates. Lost in complex procedures, afraid of making a mistake, and unable to afford to pay exorbitant fees to lawyers, accountants, and other professionals just to know where to start.
I saw elderly people who couldn't move. Families who waited months for a document. Young people with dreams, who were faced with a system they didn't understand. People who weren't begging for alms. They were just asking for someone to listen to them, to explain to them, and to show them the right path.
"These images stayed with me."
Katerina Marinaki
My Katerina, I want to say a big and sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart. For five years now, you have always been by my side, in every effort, in every difficulty, but also in every beautiful moment of this journey.
For me, you are not just a valuable colleague. You are a person who truly supported me, with love, consistency and selflessness. You stood by me like a sister and your presence is a very important part of these five years.
Thank you for all we have shared and for all we continue to create together. My appreciation and love for you is deep and true.
