Thank you for joining us today for the anniversary broadcast to mark five years since the founding of Greek News FL Miami, the digital and print newspaper.
Many congratulations are due to the founder and publisher, Mrs. Ioanna Lazarou.
It performs a great work with its contribution to information, culture and art.
During these five years, with her persistence and love for her homeland, she created a bridge between Greece and the Greek Diaspora. In this way, she made our fellow human beings feel that they are not cut off from their homeland and a chain of love connects them to each other.
In the pages of the newspaper and in its broadcasts, it did not give space to just one topic, but combined news, opinions, social, political and cultural issues. In the radio program it broadcasts, it gives us a rich program, which keeps the Greek voice alive and transmits the Greek Spirit. And in the broadcasts, its presence is intense and this shows us another element of its multidimensional action.
Its pages host writers, artists, personalities, people with social action and expatriates from the diaspora.
She gave a platform and impetus to people whose voices deserve to be heard. I am among them, and I am grateful to her. I also thank Mr. Dimitris Varvarigos for introducing me.
I hope, Mrs. Lazarus, that you continue your work, with the strength of your soul!
Society and the Greek diaspora need people who work with zeal, with courage, who do not give in, do not bend, do not lie, who fight for ideals, for the ceaseless search for truth, and who hold high the banner of their pen!
