From the first moment our eyes met, a deep friendship began to form. Ioanna and I are united by common values, our love for our homeland, language, and books.
Thank you for being tireless, uncompromising and, above all, True!
Because I have lived on both sides of the Atlantic and know what it means to thirst for Greece when you are far from it, I thank you from the depths of my soul — you and all your collaborators — for quenching our thirst every day, bringing us closer to our homeland, and uniting us online.
And I hope you continue this beautiful effort for many more years. Symbolically, I could say that the Source of Mnemosyne is Greek News and Radio Florida!
In ancient Greek mythology, Mnemosyne was a Titaness, daughter of Uranus and Gaia. From her union with Zeus were born the nine Muses.
Symbolically, we could say that Ioanna Lazarou is a modern Titaness, guardian of our memory, knowledge, language and tradition.
We thank you, all of us Greeks, within and outside our borders, for your invaluable contribution to preserving our collective memory and strengthening our ties with our homeland.
I declare my presence at every call of yours, with love and respect, serving our values and common vision.
My respects.
Sofia Zakoura
