And what previous viruses have failed to do is cause people's religious beliefs to explode.
WHAT IS THE IMAGE TODAY?
Nightmare. Thousands of dead, going to the other dimension without one last farewell, just the ringing of the bell wherever it is, and the breaking of the hearts of relatives and friends from afar. Hundreds of thousands of cases in hospitals, many intubated or isolated, like lepers, in their homes — fortunately many lucky ones return to quarantine. Beyond the terrible psychological consequences, the constant painful anxiety and depression. WHO OR WHAT IS TO BLAME?
The key question is: How did this new and formidable enemy find the gates of states open without state-of-the-art security systems realizing it? Where were the competent world organizations, some of which are victims of deliberate undermining by opaque speculative circuits? Where were the prevention systems? But that leaves a glimmer of hope for the global "system" of materialistic insanity, corruption, power mania, profiteering, arrogance. At the same time, the international arsenal is growing, multiplying and "possessing" the Earth and outer space, wasting trillions of dollars. And Planet Earth INFERNO! And yet, about 5% of these nightmarish funds would be enough to eradicate hunger and poverty throughout the universe so that people would not have to make tragic choices by eating even bats or dangerous reptiles. And the Earth could become a paradise. But no. What will become of the other "paradises" of various religious beliefs that cleverly devised to exploit the peoples and lead them to mass suicides, or such mass forms of Jihadists, etc., while promoting fanaticism (the "plague of the soul" according to Voltaire) and dogmatism (cause of wars according to the American Professor William Sumner). The Earth is doomed, therefore. Fortunately, however, that humanity, the "salt of the Earth" endured and we admire the self-sacrifice of fellow human beings, especially doctors, nurses and volunteers, who resist, and with bravery, self-denial and solidarity, offer and save! The only man-made "ark"!
AND AFTER THE CRISIS?
Perhaps the ancient sophistic "No Evil Pure Good" applies - tragically of course. Will everyone recover from the material dormancy and will leaders and peoples chart a new course with a flag: HUMANITARIAN ECUMENISM, PEACE, FREEDOM, JUSTICE, TRANSPARENCY, DIGNITY? Will the "rulers" transform arrogance and power mania into a global democratic perception and sympathy, or will they hypocritically perpetuate the institutionalized theory of the "necessary enemy" and the current vicious cycle of conflict and exploitation of fellow human beings? Will there be a new "Social Contract" that everyone will abide by, or will Darwinism and "the supremacy of the strong prevail" prevail? Will the new super-technological culture transform humans into robots? Also, should we, with horror, contemplate the unthinkable science fiction scenario, a similar virus infecting the human brain? As for the religious "contract", will the polytheistic idiocy, the fanatical dogmatic fragmentation and the controversy that negatively contribute to world peace and brotherhood ever end? Will religious leaders focus on substance rather than formalism? And if some believe that they are the "chosen ones" of God and only they should rule and go to "paradise", whoever he is, then they will surely lead mankind to a new Babylon and a new "Armageddon". Why, if they are indeed "chosen" by God (referring in particular to Christians or their religious relatives) why do they not act according to his commandments? Does the gospel in the Temple of Solomon remind us of anything and should concern us?
With all the tragic events in the world, with wars, unfair competition, epidemic diseases, etc., it has become clear that people have lost their value in the face of the privileges and interests of some "superior race". The lack of a holistic education that teaches humanity, genuine democracy, peace, rational freedom, the right rights but also the obligations, transparency, moderation and - most importantly - meritocracy has contributed to this because without it they do not succeed. the above values. The coronavirus can - and there is a reasonable hope - be neutralized. But will the coronavirus of political and religious fanaticism and intolerance be neutralized or will it recover more severely after the end of the virus by infiltrating and doping the human brain with unimaginable results?
Some terrible messages during the crisis refute any optimism, any illusions. Respect all states - and most importantly - implement the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, showing tolerance for diversity, so that all systems coexist in harmony and peace. Let all the member states strengthen the UN institutionally and financially so that with its 30 Organizations it can solve - and can - all the problems in the world.
