A Greek traditional note gave a different color to Red Hill and Syndey, Moorabbin and the Heatherton Outskirts. Traditional costumes, horses, and loud music dressed up the regions with a Greek rhythm.

 

In particular, the music group of Giannoulis at Red Hill raised the people from their chairs, while the songs of Gogos Tsambas on Sydney they made everyone dance. The great singer was in Australia to present her work at the Hellenic Summer Festival (an organization of the NSW/Australian Territory of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia).

At the same time, the Grape Festival with joy and cheerful mood they gave the stamp of the carnival. At the grape festival there was a very large participation of Greeks from Melbourne, who went to the Virgin of Castlemain, where after the service the grapes were blessed.

 

In Moorabbin and its surroundings the greek carnival with the typical masquerade parade, music and dancing, and activities for children such as the animal farm, face painting and bouncy castle. And of course, Greek food and sweets for everyone.

 The festivities started in the past few days and continued on Sunday 12th February, raising the tension even further, not only in the areas of Melbourne, but everywhere in Australia.

Coincided these days and the feast of Saint Charalambous which was commemorated at Red Hill with the bull festival that lasted the whole day. It was an organization of the Cultural Association of Ag. Paraskevi Lesvos Taxiarchis. It is a representation, the roots of which go back to the time of the Turkish rule, in which riders on horses decorated with beads and colorful talismans participate. Dance groups and the music group of Matthaios Giannoulis, which is on tour throughout Australia, took part in the celebration.

All this accompanied by cooking demonstrations by chef David Tsirekas.
