The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate investigated and solved two cases of production of child pornography and blackmail via the internet.
This was preceded by appropriate utilization of information received from foreign authorities, according to which an adult foreigner, impersonating and displaying images and videos of a female face and body, through live streaming websites, approached minors, gained their trust and artificially obtained images and videos in which the victims performed sexual acts.
Subsequently, the perpetrator, who has been arrested by British authorities, blackmailed his victims, demanding that they take further action under the threat of sharing and publishing the produced material.
As it emerged, in collaboration with the Authorities of the United States of America, as well as from the combined study of the evidence of the cases, among his victims were six (6) local minors, aged 14 to 17, who have now reached adulthood.
The pre-investigation material collected was submitted to the competent Prosecution Authorities.
