The story of Alfred Nobel is well known as well as the destructive development of nuclear weapons (Hiroshima, Nagasaki and accidents at Chernobyl, Kozloduy, etc.), which came out of the bottle like the almighty Genie, who instead of harnessing his enormous power beneficially, which, fortunately, to a certain extent happened, he used it for homicidal purposes which inspired in him unconscious, corrupt, inhuman, circuits of power and profiteering.
It reminds of the wise ancient Greek myth of the shepherd Gygis, (which should have been taught from Primary!) who, in his attempt to catch a sheep that had hidden in some cave, fell, but touched a huge ring in the ground, and as it while he was wondering, a terrifying noise was heard and a huge giant appeared before him saying: "Appoint a master"! Gygis fainted from his fear, but when he came to, the giant was still there and said to him again: "Appoint a master." The shepherd then realized that the giant was real, and ordered him to bring him hundreds of armed soldiers with their horses, etc., and attacked and conquered the kingdom, killed the king, married the queen, ascended the throne himself, etc. etc., etc. (and I don't know if they lived well and we better?...). And the eternal, philosophical, great question is: If each of us had such a ring, what would he ask the giant to offer him? (Of the hundreds of students surveyed, a small percentage would ask for some ideal, e.g. love, peace, solidarity, prosperity, etc. Most would ask for money, power, authority, glory, material goods!..)
But-tragic irony- and according to the ancient Greek proverb "No evil is pure good", the horrible nuclear weapons act as a deterrent to the possibility of a World War in which, if used, it would mean the destruction of humanity, of Planet Earth, except , of course, of some anthropomorphic monsters, ORKs, who might survive in anti-nuclear shelters, but who later could not survive and would become anthropomorphic rats!
However, as we have often pointed out, the rigid system of competition cannot survive without adversaries and consequently conventional wars continue with millions of human casualties apart from the other tragic consequences, maimed, injured, suicides, social effects, disasters, etc. "Father of all" evil war. Peace, mother of all good!
And it is very sad that the international Organizations, which were created for the consolidation of peace, etc., have proven to be totally incompetent - like the League of Nations - or partially like the UN, which, unfortunately, the known-unknown war-mongering complexes have undermined it and weakened, and we see the tragic results. The war in Ukraine has cost about 400 thousand dead PEOPLE, and the war in Gaza about 30 thousand dead PEOPLE, about 1/3 minor children and women, apart from the other tragic consequences. Let's focus our attention on these two blatant cases because they have particularly revealing, educational characteristics, because there are similar tragedies in other areas. Notably, the two wars above have, according to reputable Journalists, yielded approximately 350 billion dollars in profits for some war industries! A small percentage is enough to eliminate hunger and poverty worldwide!
However, the international indifference of political and religious leaders, media etc. in the red! And as someone wise had it, it's not so much the tragic wars, crimes, drugs, etc., as the indifference that reigns. Even international NGOs, which are supposed to be fighting for peace, are limited to conferences and declarations with impressive words without, however, effective actions, resulting in the public opinion believing that they are deliberately operating like this, parasitically, to disorient etc. and wars to be perpetuated.
Why don't they cooperate within the framework of the UN to adopt a common strategy of banning wars in general as the famous Kellogg-Briand Pact tried unsuccessfully in the CoE as well as in the UN The Agenda for Peace of the then Secretary General Boutros-Boutros Ghali? Obviously, the war-mongering establishment, made up of unconscious, fanatical, inhuman subject-objects, sera until it satisfies its baser, anti-social passions at the expense of humanity, defaming and using, with dire mastery, individuals of fluid consciousness.
So shouldn't credit be given to Alfred Nobel and nuclear weapons, which at least prevent humanity's greatest, most tragic catastrophe yet? What a curse!
