To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Message from the President of ISA G. Patoulis

I want to thank from the bottom of my heart the members of ISA for their massive participation in the elections of the Athens Medical Association.

These elections were historic. For the first time, they were held electronically, with absolute transparency, security and reliability, enabling every doctor to participate equally, freely and without restrictions. The participation of 13.195 colleagues, compared to 8.157 in the previous elections, is a resounding message of confidence in the institution of the ISA and a victory for the democratic process.

I also want to congratulate all the candidates for their participation, as well as to warmly thank the employees of ISA, who contributed decisively to the flawless conduct of this process.

The clear and strong mandate we received, and by a large margin from the next faction, is not only a recognition of the work done. It is mainly a mandate to continue even more dynamically.

Our goal for the next day is an even stronger Athens Medical Association and a Panhellenic Medical Association with increased prestige, strong institutional intervention and international impact.

We envision a united, nationwide medical front that will represent all of the country's doctors, will demand with a single voice solutions to the major problems of the sector, and will contribute decisively to the formation of the national health strategy.

We want a Greece that will be an international reference point in Health, Medical Education, Research and Innovation.

With unity, cooperation and a plan, we continue the fight for the abolition of clawback, the doubling of hospital doctors' salaries, the strengthening of the National Health System and the upgrading of the role of the Greek medical community in Greece and abroad.

With unity, plan and determination we continue.

Thank you very much for your trust.

George Patoulis

President of the Athens Medical Association
