Prologue
For several years I have been a member of the International Hellenic Association for Greek professors and scholars with PhDs from all over the world, but mainly Greece and America. The name also has an English equivalent International Hellenic Association (IXA). The main advantage of IXA is the dialogue between professors and the weekly zoom lectures for book presentations.
On June 30, 2025, Elias Stampoliadis, professor emeritus at the Technical University of Crete, suggested that indignant Greeks in the elections should not vote for parties but should cast a blank ballot, as a sign of dissatisfaction with state policy. Some members of the IXA reacted to Stampoliadis’ proposal, and in this way filled in the gaps in understanding the Greece of 2025. Their concerns come from the barbaric German occupation of the country, Greece’s entry into the European Union, the destructive borrowing and debt repayment, foreign influences, and the painful political and cultural influence of the media (Mass Media of Deception). The comments also tell us that Greece remains under occupation and the governments are occupationist. Besides, the various comments reflect what “democracy” is in the country that gave birth to it 2,500 years ago, Greece. But the Greece of 2025 is surrounded by enemies and especially friends of Turkey, which has plans for half of the Aegean. The other interesting and at the same time strange thing is that none of the professors and scholars I discuss in this work even mentioned the names NATO, America or Turkey.
Abstention or white?
Stampoliadis talks about the “political system” that "under the pseudonym of Democracy... it is an elective Monarchy, that is, they call on us to vote for one or the other" A despot who controls the Government, Parliament and the Judiciary. I call on all these fellow citizens who are protesting… to come to the elections and vote blank, not invalid. In this way, not only their presence but also their opinion will be counted and will show with mathematical precision, without fraud, that the protest against the system is greater than the power of any party that claims power. Abstention classifies citizens among the indifferent or incapable of expressing their will, while blank is also counted and shows the inability of the existing system to express them and must change.”
Stampoliades' message about abstaining from elections or voting blank is interesting but problematic. However, the comment is a timely criticism of the Greek electoral and political monarchical mentality characterized by defeatism, certainly borrowed or imposed on Greece by its EU and NATO allies. From Stampoliades' words, Greece is oscillating between the Scylla of the disappointment of a large number of voting citizens and the Charybdis of corruption and a deficit foreign policy that, if it continues unchecked, will lead to a second Ottoman occupation and annihilation.
Other scholars from Greece reacted to Stampoliades' proposals in part, but mainly gave us their own ideas. In order to give the essence of these important proposals, I give the texts of the commentaries almost in their entirety.
"In order to influence political events in our homeland,” wrote Ioannis Hatzopoulos, professor emeritus of the University of the Aegean, July 5, 2025, “we must utilize our strong point, which is education. By identifying with a rotten, corrupt political system, the only thing we will achieve is its perpetuation. For 15 years, since popular sovereignty was replaced by the representatives of the lenders (troika, “institutions”, etc.), we have been under occupation and the respective governments are occupation governments and have committed themselves with the memoranda to serve the interests of the occupiers. The occupiers We know them very well and we continue to bend our necks playing their games while they wag their fingers at us…. [My mother's] savings that had been deposited in the postal savings bank were robbed by the Germans in the form of a loan which to this day has not been returned to Greece. Keep in mind that the Germans and Italians During the occupation, they robbed the archaeological museums of Greece and even exhibited the stolen goods in their museums, something that a common thief would not dare to do, and in addition, they collected large sums of money from the stolen goods... These horrific things that the occupiers do to us, they do because the public, including us, does not understand what is good and what is bad. If we want to contribute to the maturation of the public, we must, through education, help the development of the intellect so that it can distinguish right from wrong, good from evil, and condemn and punish evil. Very simple things.”

Hatzopoulos is right. He writes like an angry philosopher. Education is the greatest good and generates intellect, justice and culture. A patriotic Greek government should educate children in the virtues of our ancient civilization with the Epics and language of Homer and the literature, philosophy, science, technology, history and archaeology of the Greeks. And of course, education must complement ancient knowledge with new knowledge. But education cannot be done in isolation. Along with education, the Greek government must be patriotic and strong to force Germany to pay its debts to Greece and accumulate the stolen archaeological treasures. The European Union has a moral and political responsibility to force Germany to pay its debt to Greece. If Germany refuses, the EU should expel Germany from the EU. The Greek government must also protect its sovereignty in the Aegean and the rest of the territory.
Koninos Karaiskos, a professor for many years, did support the need for education, but he spoke about the impact of private television stations that are, in a way, also becoming unofficial educational institutions.“Intervention in the education provided,” Karaiskos wrote, July 4, 2025, “is absolutely necessary… in my long tenure in school classrooms, I have observed the downward trajectory of the horizon of our youth. We do not console ourselves with the brilliant exceptions, the average is collapsing, both in moral and spiritual formation and in perceptual/cognitive equipment. This crucial problem will not be solved only with a (radical) change in school education but also in the “education” provided by the ubiquitous and uncontrolled screens, which today raise and “educate” the new generations – not to mention the older ones. A people who watch THIS (mainly) private television cannot have a future!”
Karaiskos, like Hatzopoulos, speaks like a philosopher. I have watched private television screens for quite some time and I agree about their anti-cultural and inhuman and barbaric effects. If we add mobile phones and artificial intelligence, the future of free people in Greece and elsewhere is indeed not certain.
Roots of Decline: The Gospel of the EU: Greeks and Germans in the Same Family
George Copelas, on July 5, 2025, expanded the understanding of tragedy in Greece in 2025 with the knowledge of history. He said the following:
"To get out of the quagmire we are in, we must first understand how and why we got into it, that is, who led us here and for what reason. A primary role in this was played by most Greek journalists in the media (Mass Deception Media)… After Costas Simitis came to power in 1996, with the implicit ban on any public negative criticism of the member states of the then EEC, they convinced the Greek people that all Europeans are members of a large family, that is, they are distant cousins ours who love us like our brothers and that is why we Greeks must make various concessions and concessions for the sake of the common interest! For example, we are not allowed to demand that the Germans compensate us for the plunder of Greece's natural resources in the period 1941-1944, nor for the violent confiscation of thousands of tons of food that led 250.000 Athenian citizens to die of starvation in the winter of 1942, since the Germans are our brothers! Contrary to what happened in the other member states of the European Union, in Greece there was no referendum on our accession to the EU, which after the year 2000 has gradually transformed into a superstate that primarily serves the interests of Germany to the detriment of the Balkan states and those of Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, in the current Greek Parliament no political party questions Greece's stay in the European Union, nor even our stay in the euro zone, which led to the destruction of Greek agriculture, livestock farming and industry, to the abolition of the welfare state, to external over-indebtedness, to bankruptcy of 2010, and the gradual loss of our national independence through the famous memoranda, which the Greek Parliament voted in favor of!”
The next day, July 6, 2025, Copelas returned to the debt and the European and German issue, because the European Union and Germany ignore Germany's huge debt to Greece, but order Greece to repay its own debt to the EU. Copelas said:
"No one can to force Greece to repay its debts if Germany continues to refuse to repay its own debts to Greece and Poland. Of course, with the German-speakers who have been ruling us since 1996, Germany has no reason to repay its debts. We are not Jews looking for a “messiah,” nor are we Germans looking for a “Führer”!”
I agree with the eloquent and true historical understanding of Copelas. He is a philosopher. The European Union and NATO punished Greece excessively and favored Germany and Islamic Turkey, the genocidal Asian country that hates Greeks and Western civilization. And Germany almost wiped out Greece in 1941-1944. Its refusal to pay its debts to Greece tells us that Germany has not changed. It remains a dangerous country that should not have been free and certainly not a sovereign of the EU. At the first opportunity they get, the Germans will destroy Europe.
And quite rightly so, Greeks are neither Jews nor Germans. Greece is the only European nation state whose roots date back millennia to the country that gave us Homer, Hesiod, philosophers and scientists such as Pythagoras, Democritus, Aristotle, Euclid, Aristarchus of Samos, Archimedes, Hippocrates, Hipparchus, Ptolemy and generals such as Alexander the Great. Without the Greeks, Europeans would still be barbarians.
Journalist Nikos Iglesis, like me, agreed with Copelas. With his short letter of July 5, 2025, Iglesis shed light on the dark history of Greece after World War II.being World War and particularly the results of German atrocities and barbarity in occupied Greece. He also told us important facts about Greece’s baptism into the waters of the EU. “In order to change the current situation in our country,” wrote Iglesis, “the causes of dependence that lead to decline must be understood. Greece, with its accession to the EU, has ceded most of its sovereignty to Brussels. It no longer has its own economic, fiscal and monetary policy. The country’s budget is first approved by the Commission and then comes for a vote. in the Greek Parliament. Greece, with its accession to the Eurozone, no longer has its own currency but a currency issued by the ECB. This means that any budget deficit is covered only by additional borrowing from the markets. The Public Debt exceeds 400 billion euros and for this, over 7 billion euros are paid every year for interest alone. No abstention [from the elections] and no blank [ballot] can reverse this course. A national salvation plan and a political entity that will implement it are needed.”
This behavior of the EU towards Greece is unacceptable. Master and slave. And with Germany at the center of EU power, there is no reason for Greece to remain a member of the EU. A patriotic Greek government must convince the EU members to change Germany's anti-Greek policy and force it to pay its debts to Greece. If that fails, Greece must stop paying its own debt. There cannot be two measures of law in the EU. And the other developing event in the EU is the dangerous influx of Muslim immigrants via Turkey to the Greek islands. This event of Muslim illegal immigrants to Christian Orthodox Greece has provoked Ioannis Kontos, professor emeritus of the University of Athens. His letter indirectly speaks about education but the main issue is the entry of foreigners into Greece.
""The result will come very slowly with education alone," replied Ioannis Kontos, July 5, 2025. “It is not excluded that by the time the children who will begin to be educated are old enough to begin to be educated since the proposal [of Hatzopoulou on education] is implemented, Greece will already have been Islamized, as at the same time the many children of illegal immigrants will be growing up. If something is not done soon with the existing patriotic forces, Greece risks being irreversibly culturally altered with the prevalence of the irrational. and dogmatic Islam.”
There is no doubt that illegal Muslim immigrants are coming to Greece. The EU finances their livelihood. The Greek authorities, unfortunately, do not protect the country's borders. If this ethnonihilative policy continues, the consequences, as Kontos said, will be painful and ugly. Greeks will become minorities in their homeland. Greece will cease to be Greece.
This morbid possibility has already manifested itself in the cultural policy of Greece, particularly in bordering Thrace and its Democritus University.
Professor of Medieval Greek history and philology Grigorios Papagiannis explains in his letter (July 9, 2025):
"What can I tell you first, dear colleagues! Last year we suffered such a reduction and such discredit as the Department of Greek Philology, that even now I have not digested it! We made overtures to everyone (Church and State and Local Government). In vain! The “planning” or re-planning of the Democritus University of Thrace foresaw something else!
In vain we emphasized in all directions the importance of the existence of a Department of Greek Philology (which was also the main Department of Humanities at the University of Thessaloniki) in the bordering Democritus! Our Department was a victim of a political-economic transaction! Now comes the “best”: The new single-section A school (which initially has 300 applicants) will NOT have (this year) a minimum admissions base! That is, it will accept as successful the 300 “first” candidates (no matter how low their score!), so that all the admissions positions are filled (and therefore it appears that it is “successful”!). They could have done such “tricks” before, if they wanted to attract students to Thrace!… However, the fact that there is an interstate agreement [between Greece and Turkey] for the maintenance of the Islamic Studies Department is not an “argument” for any Government that the TEF [Department of Greek Philology] of Thrace “deserved” to be abolished/merged. It is simply another sign of Greece's servility towards Turkey: It is afraid of harming Turkey's interests, it is writing Greek interests on its old shoes!" (Emphasis mine)
Papagiannis is a valuable witness to the arbitrary and servile Greek state policy towards hostile and genocidal Turkey.
Another professor, Dimitrios Vlachos, of the University of Ioannina, on July 5, 2025, blamed Greece's tragic situation on the lenders. “Our destiny,” he said, “is not in our hands, and elections are held because they must be held. Our destiny is determined by our creditors. They determine what laws we will vote for, what policies we will follow, what is right, proper, or wrong. Unfortunately, we are no longer a state, but a corporation. And we, the citizens, are subjects that we will have to pay forever.”
There is exaggeration but also truth in what Vlachos said. His views brought former doctor Panagiotis Baltatzis into the discussion. “I will refer to Mr. Dimitrios Vlachos who described it to us "blacker than all of them," said Baltatzis.
"I agree about the decline of political life in our country, which of course affects everything else, and of course education, even more generally overall education, and for our difficult life.
What are we doing?... I suggest we sit down. down, let's agree, LET'S AGREE, in 5-6 basic topics, what do we want? Justice, Security, Education, Better Healthcare, to help the region that has been deserted, to clean our cities, to make our lives more beautiful, with solidarity and love for our fellow citizens us, why not? why not ask us the head of state and our local rulers, both in words and in deeds. Let us ask for and support a GOVERNMENT OF SALVATION with established, and "clean" old and young people, with a Vision for Us and our children, for our Greece. And let us control them and strictly after the elections. Let us ask the new Government to change the Constitution to a truly Democratic Constitution, modeled after the Constitution of Kapodistrias, made for Greece.
There are so many things we can do, to change our fundamentals… All Together. We Can.”
Epilogue
Baltatzis says it well. His advice that the Greeks must agree on a common policy for the good of the country is undeniable. But Baltatzis says nothing about the EU, NATO, and America and Turkey. These forces are fueling the Greek tragedy. Yes, together we can. President Obama, who probably had read a little Greek history, also said it out loud. But the EU and the International Monetary Fund of America unfairly punished their ally Greece with brutal famine-like austerity. Why? To facilitate Turkey's anti-Greek and hostile policy? The EU-IMF lending policy towards bankrupt Greece was carried out par excellence during Obama's presidency. The lenders, the EU and the International Monetary Fund, gainedan a lot of money from hungry Greece. Their policy was almost predatory. Why?
I particularly liked Baltatzis' proposal for the Constitution of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first president of free Greece, 1828-1831.
Kapodistrias was an excellent Greek diplomat and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire, 1816 – 1822. In the free but small and ruined Greece, he laid the foundations of the nation, independent and democratic. In 1828, he wrote, with the Greek scholar Iakovakis Rizos Neroulos, the “History of Modern Greece from the Age of the Fall of the Eastern Empire.” But his diplomatic responsibilities obliged him not to put his name on the cover of the book in which he considers Greece as a nation-state with an ancient history of freedom, laws, and justice. The virtues of the Greek nation are freedom or death. He drew ideas from ancient Greece and aimed to establish a Sacred Greece as a school of civilization. Unfortunately, his Turkophile Greek enemies, with the money of England, murdered him on September 27, 1831.
The teachers who reacted to Elias Stampoliadis' proposals should meet and together propose a strategy for salvation. It would be a good idea to get in touch with the protagonists of the 2023 Tempi crime accident protest. The leaders of the huge panhellenic protest will likely be in the process of planning a political movement to create a national salvation government.
Certainly, Hatzopoulos, Copelas, Inglesis, Vlachos, Baltatzis and Papagiannis should unite with the leaders of the Tempi protest. Then they should create a strategy for the salvation of Greece. Education, justice, demographic adequacy in agricultural villages, self-sufficiency in food and the military industry, national security and power should be the backbone of the strategy. If the EU and NATO prefer Germany and Turkey, with Germany not paying its debts to Greece, and Turkey continuing its hostilities in the Aegean, Greece must find other allies.
