To those who think that Greece does not matter today, let me say that they could not make a bigger mistake. Today, like old Greece, is of the utmost importance for anyone looking to find himself.

Henry Miller, 1891-1980, American author

Once upon a time, there were values...

What happens in these difficult times that makes no value stand?

What has caused people to stray from their humanity and no longer feel for their neighbors and, often, even for themselves?

The questions, clearly, are not current, but they are now tragically more intense.

People are turning their backs on every human value. Understanding, empathy, morality, love for a friend, partner or even for a neighbor are forgotten.

There is a hollow wandering depending on the interests of each person, sometimes economic and sometimes existential. Loneliness, isolation, insensitivity or, if you like, the absence of expression of emotions have become a motto and mainly a lifestyle. However, negative emotions are expressed in abundance...

On the street, the "French" give and take until weapons come out, the words are heavy, the fistfight is easy...

At work, unfair competition, rudeness and accusations.

In everyday life, stress, doubt, uncertainty, turmoil. Couples on the verge of a nervous breakdown, fights and domestic violence.

Disoriented, aggressive, or isolated children photograph the image of the environment they live in.

People who talk to themselves while walking, don't look ahead, and cross the expressways from any point, with an unbearable weight on their shoulders and their gaze lost.

At the same time, terrorism at all hours and days from the mass media.

War is coming, prepare a 72-hour KIT, you will have no electricity or water. It is clear that they are fighting us and they are managing to defeat us.

They defeat us because our soul is lost, we forget our faith, our values, and our morality.

We forget to love and share, to interact, to embrace. We are afraid that our feelings will be trampled on, insulted, exploited...

Fear at every step.

As humanity progresses and changes, it mutates into a selfish mixture of savagery, intolerance, pessimism, immense loneliness and sadness.

People hate themselves and everyone else.

Jealousy, misery, misery and hatred.

You go to church and you are tormented by the insensitivity of the people, you are tormented by the empty stares, you are tormented by the hollow faith.

Everyone wants to take the mountains but they pass you by.

You go on vacation and you're indignant at the rudeness and the bad manners. Everyone talks to everyone as if they're slaves and outcasts.

You go to the supermarket and they're ready to grab the cashier, the cheesemonger, the butcher, the greengrocer...

You go for coffee and you hear them talking to the workers as if they owe them...

In modern societies, the other becomes the enemy.

Suspicion, violence, loneliness and anonymity reinforce inner savagery.

Modern savagery is not expressed in primitive cries, but in factories, war, power and exploitation. Nature suffers, but man himself is also sick mentally and physically..

"Progress" becomes a weapon in the hands of a civilization that is losing its humanity.

What is the root of humanity's evil?

I think the uncontrolled image that created the belief of "you're never bored", that impressed upon us that all unnatural things are natural, that selling means being sold...

I think the beginning of the thread lies in television and the contempt for human critical thinking with the aim of the ultimate direction towards the devaluation of our own lives.

Instead of waking up every day and making our cross, thanking God (of course, everyone can thank whoever or whatever they consider to be the creator), smiling that this planet generously gives us the perfection of our own existence, we simply... dust off the dust of the previous day simply to exist.

In the end we became just like animals.

We live with a survival instinct. Whatever does not serve the “I” is marginalized or destroyed. Man’s savage behavior stems from his profound detachment from nature — not only his physical nature, but also his inner nature. The urban lifestyle, the artificial social structure, and the constant noise exclude connection with “being.”

Man today is wilder than ever — not because he lives in nature, but because he has rejected it.

A return to authenticity, to nature, to oneself is perhaps the only way to become human again. If it doesn't change, it won't survive.

Not because he can't — but because he has forgotten how!

His wild nature no longer dwells in the forests — it nests in the cities, in his cold decisions, in his insatiable greed. He has become a ruler without wisdom, a god without mercy. He builds skyscrapers, but does not look to the sky. He floods the earth with things, but hungers for meaning.

Perhaps the true return is not to a forest, but to a forgotten inner silence — where man remembers that he did not come to conquer, but to accompany.

Because whoever forgets his nature becomes wilder than the wildest beast. And only whoever bows down to the ground again with respect and humility has hope of becoming human again.

And if we are ever saved, it won't be because we progressed — it will be because we remembered to walk barefoot within ourselves.
