The very strong winds that have been blowing in Greece and Attica in recent days have brought the results we all feared: the fires that broke out were particularly dangerous. The fire that is burning in Keratea is out of control, as the firefighting forces are fighting a real battle, but with the wind prevailing.
Unfortunately today, Friday, the body of a dead man was found, who did not have time to leave his home, in the Togani area of Keratea. The elderly man was located when it was already too late, after his relatives notified the authorities.
The fire has exceeded 7 kilometers and is spreading, while the 112 messages from Civil Protection have not stopped calling on people to evacuate the area.
The fire department's forces are large, and at least 10 people have already been rescued in an area where around 39 vehicles and 80 police officers are operating, while reinforcements from the DIAS team have already arrived.
The areas that were asked to evacuate at 15.00:112 on Friday, via XNUMX messages, were Drosia and Harvalo, where residents were also instructed to go to Anavyssos. Shortly before the afternoon, a new message was sent to the residents of the Dimokaki and Synterina areas, suggesting the move to Anavyssos and Lavrio. The settlements of Maliasteka and Agiasma had also been evacuated.
At 18.00:XNUMX p.m. on Friday afternoon, the residents of Palea Fokaia were evacuated, leading the residents towards Lagonisi.
