A total of -7- independent cases were formed, of which in one case the autophoric procedure was initiated.
Six separate regular procedure files and one criminal file of an authoforous nature, for child pornography, were formed by the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, within the framework of an operational action, codenamed "ZEUS", which took place from the end of July to the beginning of August 2025, throughout the territory.
It is noted that this action is being implemented within the framework of international police cooperation to combat the phenomenon of child pornography via the internet, while the identification and dismantling of the illegal activity of those involved required specialized techniques as well as digital analysis of data and information obtained through the NCMEC organization (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children), based in the United States of America.
In this context, from the thorough and in-depth investigation as well as from the pre-investigation material that was collected, the involvement of -7- internet users from all over the country was determined, while from the digital analysis and utilization of information and data, the identity details of those involved, as well as their places of residence, emerged.
Searches followed at the homes of the accused, in the presence of representatives of the competent judicial authorities and with the assistance of local police services.
Specifically, in an area of Western Macedonia, -2- mobile phones, -2- SIM cards and -1- memory card were found and seized, while the on-site digital search that was conducted revealed a large amount of pornographic material (photographs and videos), resulting in the arrest of the person involved in the context of the immediate proceedings.
At the same time, in areas of Attica, Central Greece, Crete and an Ionian island, a total of -8- mobile phones, a SIM card and -4- hard drives were found and seized, while the involvement of -6- defendants in the cases was identified.
The process for further laboratory examination of the seized evidence by the Criminal Investigations Directorate is ongoing.
The arrested person was taken to the competent Public Prosecutor's Office, while the separate case files that were formed will be submitted to the competent authority.
