Our homeland is Greece
stick-wielding Naiad1
swims in the water
with a lace fur coat2
white as a snowflake.
She is wearing a blue dress,
he's making jokes, he's making jokes,
wears a laurel crown
with an antique coin
and on her chest are peonies3.
Bathed in sunlight
in a stone kingdom
with mountains and ravines
that smell of myrtles,
honeysuckle and linden.
As the books say,
which are mines of knowledge,
created a culture
which gives rise to admiration
all the schools on earth.
Oh, our homeland Greece,
of your children, all freshness,
your heart is telling you
how will we rise again
of civilization the torch.
