Introductory, epigrammatically, international relations are like seismic zones where no one can predict with certainty where and when there will be some seismic upsurge. And power is like the wind that when it finds a gap it rushes to fill it. In combination with the above, the states, especially the powerful ones, have always struggled to predict where and when there will be "earthquake" political etc. phenomena as well as power gaps to intervene or intervene in any way to secure their "national" interests, regardless of whether this involved harming the national interests of others.
Sometimes they succeeded, sometimes not, and crises and conflicts continued. And certain Powers, seduced by the arrogance of power, which, as our ancient wise Philosophers pointed out, causes corruption, which, the most corrupt, used as the spearhead of their foreign policy in order to corrupt others in order to they exploit them and use them accordingly, with the hope or illusion that they will become - at least some - monocrators - cosmocrators. However, this is against nature which does not tolerate such phenomena! Polybius had said that "Never should such a power be thrown into one hand as to render the neighboring states incapable of defending their rights against him."
Some Powers struggled to demonstrate their power as balanceurs (Balanceurs) and Henry VIII boasted that "whoever I support will win" (Cui adhaero praest). Of course, those Powers were really powerful. But, "O Tempora O Mores", today humanity is experiencing an unprecedented, mutatis mutandis, phenomenon that constitutes a global paradox, that Turkey, the "Dangerous Neutral", as it was wisely characterized, now appears as a universal "Power", a universal " balancer" (unbalancer in essence), trying to cast ashes in the eyes of the world community so that it forgets (it is excluded!) the genocides and other terrible crimes that it has committed and continues to commit shamelessly and unforgivably, but, in essence, to mislead the international community opinion, to disorient it with regard to the serious problems it faces at home with millions of non-Muslim ethnic groups, especially tens of millions of Kurds, who still do not have a homeland as a result of the indifference of the Powerful, to obscure, and thus be able to blackmail, provoke the Strong-vulnerable, who not only tolerate it, but some collaborate and invest in the war conflicts it causes. A recent characteristic and unjustified example is its murderous attacks in Syria. And the other unimaginable thing is its attempt to emerge as a global "Superpower" by embracing and placing under its "high guardianship" the Muslim countries of the wider region and beyond.
Her story in the two PPs and after is well known, with how much hypocrisy, flattery, theatrics, opportunism, etc. it was trying to disorientate international public opinion, and blackmail in order to extract economic and military aid especially from the USA which it has bled terribly and which, cultivating illusions or due to expediency, tolerates and supports it.
But what is most disappointing is the tolerance, in general, of many supposedly democratic states to Turkish neo-imperialist, revisionist profligacy, the deliberate amnesia for its criminal past, which, as we know, has cost millions dead, etc. tragedies starting with the genocides of Armenians, Kurds, Pontians, Greeks, etc., and ending with the invasion and illegal occupation of part of the Republic of Cyprus, in Syria, in Libya, etc. defiantly and ruthlessly violating and undermining the UN, EU and NATO Charters.
Conclusion:
Back to the Middle Ages? The infamous ones "CRUSADES" which in the name - unthinkable - of Christ, killed millions and destroyed civilizations, will be succeeded and imitated by the infamous CRESCENTS; Shouldn't we also use the term? CRESCENT PHOBIAS; MERCY! Armageddon before and within the gates of the world. However - the most disappointing - as we predicted, the indifference of the virtual democratic states, which - tragically - are controlled behind the scenes by inhumane, war monstrosities, hybrid circuits, which perhaps engineer, in addition to other monstrosities, the creation hybrid man! And Orwell's prophecy that in our time war will be considered peace, as well as Huntington's about the clash of cultures, comes true, with the difference that it is not about cultures but about sales! RESIST!
